An issue I'm noticing with AI in Africa is the token costs for getting meaningful output are really high. A dev paid Ksh 80k can't afford to spend $200 on Claude Max. What if we had a community where we shared low-cost strategies for leveraging AI in our workflows? Y'all in?

@sudo_sama @_SachinSankar @zen_browser On zen you create spaces and asign them a profile. And then switching between them is just swiping or clicking on the spaces at the bottom of the sidebar

@_SachinSankar @zen_browser I am talking about the chrome like feature where when I click chrome then a window pops up where you choose which profile to open. Recently firefox has introduced the same feature but zen hasn't introduced that feature yet. The closest is about:profiles url

Thanks to @glazeapp, managing photos for 1wei.dev is finally effortless. My site is built with next.js, with photos stored in public folder and metadata tracked in a json file. Before adding a single photo, I had to extract location/time, compress it, rename it, move it into the right repo folder, update the json, and then verify it in the browser. That whole process often made me too lazy to update new photos, even when I really wanted to. Now I just drag and drop photos into the 𝙿𝚑𝚘𝚝𝚘 𝙰𝚛𝚌𝚑𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝙰𝚙𝚙 I built with Glaze, check the browser, and I’m done. This honestly feels kind of magical! I really believe this is the future: build your own software to solve your own problem.

@SiroFitsKe It says app not available in your region. Also this is one of the biggest pitches for using react native. OTA updates are soo time saving meaning you only have to deal with apple/Playstore review once or when you make native code changes

You think publishing an app is the hard part, try updating one. Every update I push to Apple Store has its own story—a taxing back-and-forth that drains energy, demanding a recovery period.

I went through this exact thing about ~8 months ago.
Everyone must pass through the phase of AI existential dread and developer ego death.
After much internal deliberation I've come to the realization:
The genie is out of the bottle, and instead of just three wishes, it comes with 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 😅
So, the focus changes from the artisanal line by line code crafting and shifts into deeper architectural & product decisions, that 𝗜 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲.
It's now 99% product planning & research around edge cases/what's possible/competitors and like 1% typing syntax. Instead of the 75% code / ~25% planning of yesteryear.
Once you see it, you see it.

This is a really thoughtful reflection. I didn’t intend to watch the whole thing, but I ended up doing it anyway.
AI is like playing a hard game you can’t beat with cheat codes on. It’s amazing at first, but it becomes boring very quickly.
But worse than that, it does something to your brain that ruins the game. If you turn the cheat codes off, you become acutely aware that you’re now struggling unnecessarily. You can’t forget how easy it was, but you don’t want it to be that easy because it takes all the fun out of it, but now the inability to unsee what you’ve seen creates a tension that causes you to lose interest in even continuing to play.
The magic is gone. You’ve broken the spell.
AI is doing this to life. And the societal consequences are going to be enormous.
