I said it in 2024, and I'm asking the devs again in 2025 to implement Villager auto queue in aoe2. RTS is already so complicated, build order, strategy, micro, macro, counter units, terrain bonus, more than 40 civs bonus and units to learn. The truth is that today, getting into RTS is so complicated and demanding compared to other games. Either you want to get good at aoe2 and learn to automatically switch back to TC and spam your keyboard shortcut until you don't even realize it anymore, Either you don't have the time or energy to do it because you wanna enjoy other parts of the game and then making vils non stop is a chore. To make it fair for everyone, i'd suggest that when the auto vil queue is on, the town center works at 90% efficiency. If you're willing to learn it, it still gives you an edge, but it will be a huge quality-of-life feature for all players new to the game or playing it casually. The release of Age of Mythology with the automatic vils queue reinforced my belief that this kind of quality-of-life element is essential for RTS. When AOM was released, I saw a lot of streamers and gamers enjoying being able to play an RTS and be strategically competitive without having to spend 200 hours just to get the basic mechanics. In my opinion, RTS are far too demanding these days compared to other games, and that's why they're not as popular as they used to be.
