Thrilled to see my postdoc work @AdelmanLab on the Integrator (INT) now out @CellCellPress:We found that INT deficiency allows immature and unlicensed RNAPII to precociously enter genes. This immature RNAPII can transcribe short genes but terminates prematurely in long genes

A new study shows mutations in the Integrator complex — linked to cancers, blood disorders, neurodevelopmental abnormalities, and other diseases — cause chronic stress in cells bit.ly/4mIdFdF

Amazing to see how this work connects defects in transcription elongation to chronic stress signaling and disease! Could targeting dsRNA or ISR pathways offer new therapeutic strategies for conditions caused by INT mutations? Fascinating implications for RNA biology and medicine!

Very excited to share that my thesis work is out in Molecular Cell! We trained a Structure and Omics informed Classifier (SPOC) to score binary AlphaFold multimer (AF-M) predictions by structural quality and consistency with experimental omics datasets. cell.com/molecular-cell…

Excited that our work on transcription-coupled DNA repair is now published @CellCellPress! We recapitulated TC-NER in Xenopus egg extract and identified STK19 as a core repair factor that couples stalled Pol II to TFIIH. 🧬🐸 ➡️ cell.com/cell/fulltext/…

Looking for an exciting #PhD project in #molecularBiology? How about this question: what determines a gene's end? Most human genes have alternative ends, the choice of which is important for health and disease. Yet we still don't understand how this choice is made!

8) Lastly, I'm all in for meaningful public critique. We need more of them. But I absolutely despise selective pile-ons against our favorite pinatas. They r "fun drama" but a poor & lazy approach to providing feedback.

@_WolfLab Congrats @MV4_11 @NevenkaDudvars1 for the really nice work - great to see both histone remodelers and chaperones (SPT6) from MYC interactome in the both genetic dropout screens. A real tour de force....!

Acute degradation of RUVBL1 in transplanted PDAC tumors via the auxin-inducible degron (AID) system resulted in complete tumor regression in immunocompetent mice which was preceded by infiltration with CD3-positive immune cells.
