@Finumus1 So incineration of food waste only really makes sense if the kerbside collection adds a very significant extra cost. Improving domestic fertiliser and methane production confers a resource security benefit. The cost difference is prob lower than you think.

@Finumus1 Digestion creates fertiliser and methane. Both are much easier to handle compared to incineration of solids which makes tonnes of caustic ash which is difficult to dispose of. Add on top the fact that the "fuel" for that incineration would have an extremely high water content.

What is the point of this? Our waste is incinerated, it's a completely closed carbon loop system already. It's a complete waste of everyone's time and money.

@judithyates1 @WEDINOSProject Something surprising about W059985 from 4th Jan is the presence of the heroin byproduct 6-MAM. This is only made when opium is converted to heroin. So the sample has been mixed with actual "heroin" or this is an artefact of WEDINOS reporting.
