@stefdhrhsf True, MH region is part of the Dravida/Dakṣiṇa/Deccan region in the Classical Sanskrit sense. But in the modern sense, the N-S distinction is based on language groups (Indo-Aryan & Dravidian). Though MH speaks an Aryan language, MH people dont consider themselves North Indians.

Maharashtra is in the south. The word Deccan originates from Dakshina, which means South. Also, the geographical term Dravida includes Maharashtra Maharashtrian Brahmins (such as Deshastha, Konkanastha, and Karhade) are classified under the Pancha-Dravida group, a traditional classification of Brahmins living south of the Vindhya mountains. The thing which seperates us from South is that we speak Indo-European language

If you have a problem with Dilip Mandal's world view (I do) have the same problem with Karpatri and his supporters worldview. People who claim all sorts of victimhood do not get a seat at the "look beyond caste" table. Because these people never look beyond caste just like Mr Mandal. A Karpatri supporter and a Peiryar supporter are the mirror image of each other. If you want to give sermons on "look beyond caste" then demand the annihilation of Jati Varna like some of us do consistently. Mr Mandal called me a cockroach 🤣🤣 because I opposed every form of reservation other than SC/ST so I got no love for the man. Ambedkar's statue should definitely be installed in Kolkata, as suggested by Dilip Mandal his contribution to Bengal is very significant. Ambedkar had advised Jogendra Nath Mandal(dalit leader) against allying with the Muslim League, which cost the lives of many Dalits, and their women were graped. In 1947, to divide Bengal, Jogendra Nath Mandal got Dalits to vote in favor of the Muslim League against Hindus. After Pakistan was created, Jogendra moved to Pakistan, and he was made a member of the Constituent Assembly, as well as Law & Labour Minister. Within just 3 years, attacks began on Hindu minorities, especially Dalits who had stayed in Pakistan or gone there after leaving India because of Mandal forced conversions,grapes of women, riots, and property seizures. Mandal kept begging the PM and government to safeguard minorities, but they beat him like a dog and forced him to resign. Chtya mandal who saw Hindus as enemies, betrayed them, and went to Pakistan, came back in just 3 years and became irrelevant, History regards Jogendra Nath Mandal as a complete idiot. After their “historic contribution” to Bengal, Bengal should honor BR Ambedkar and Jogendra Nath Mandal with statues in every corner of the state. I’m sure the BJP will make it happen sooner or later.
