I met with two Waymo reps a few years back. Even then, you could tell they were dodging real safety concerns and didn't seem to care much about the problems.
It's just more proof their 'autonomous' system isn't what they sell it as.

Reality:
1. Universal school choice for all parents including homeschoolers
2. Strongest Parents Bill of Rights in the nation
3. No sales tax on baby items
4. Lowest in-state college and university tuition in the nation (and hasn’t increased a penny since I’ve been governor)
5. #1 economy among the states 3 years in a row
6. 50 year low in the crime rate
7. Most active state in supporting federal deportation of illegal aliens
8. #1 state for new business formations
9. Best beaches, best fishing, best boating and best theme parks
10. #1 public higher education system (10 years running)

My problem with DeSantis has always been this: Florida is not a good place to live for anyone under 55. It is fun, but creating a life here is challenging. DeSantis caters to the Boomers in the villages, hits culture war issues, but does not make it great for the youth.

Today proved something the Capitol doesn’t want to admit: Republicans still matter. Until this morning, any mention of protections for 16/17 year olds from being purchased for sex was going to be stripped from the bill.
After @AsmRepublicans applied pressure, Dems scrambled to *at least* expedite (non-substantive) amendments with the recognition they must protect ALL minors. That didn’t happen until we forced the issue.
The amendments are deeply flawed and don’t do a thing to protect 16/17 year olds. But, together with the public and even @CAgovernor @GavinNewsom, we moved the football down the field.
We must continue to hold #caleg accountable to ensure protections for every minor child from being purchased. With your help, I’m confident we can get this done.

In March 2025, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey secured a $24 billion default judgment against the Chinese government. The lawsuit accused China of hoarding personal protective equipment (PPE) during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, which allegedly harmed Missouri residents. China did not participate in the court proceedings, leading to the default judgment.
Attorney General Bailey has expressed intentions to seize Chinese-owned assets, including farmland, to collect the awarded damages.

After 3 years and countless negotiations we finally passed Ryla’s Law out of the Assembly Public Safety Committee. The bill is named after the one year old daughter of Rancho Cordova parents Ryan and Alicia Strange who was murdered at the hands of a child care worker in 2019.
