Not a win. The banning of any book is not a win. Book banning is a way to keep students from learning. Restricting information, discouraging freedom of thought, and censoring knowledge undermines the primary function of education: teaching students how to think for themselves.

@itsjacksonbbz Some trans people are also very not accepting of non-binary people (possibly due to their own complicated relationship to gender idk) in a way I don’t see as much among queer people

It is so funny how the word "queer" is being used as a dogwhistle for "trans" because there are actually lot of trans people who are very straight and assimilationist and not queer in any way whatsoever.

Sort of a rambling parenting thread but I’m feeling good about this decision.

Because I don’t live with my partner, I end up getting a good amount of time with my son alone. I’m still going to do an activity with him but that is the 1:1 bond that happens naturally without as much effort.

I’m trying out a new parenting thing. Once a month, me or my partner takes a kid out a Saturday for some one on one time. I went first with my partner’s daughter. We got our nails done, we got hot chocolate, and we went to the pet shop to look at puppies. She had a blast.
