@JuliaLaite I'm considering writing mine! Strong victorian matriarch, umarried mother openly living with Scottish sporting legend Donald Dinnie. My great grandmother Mary Ann Gellatly.

How old do you have to be before you stop burning your tongue on hot soup? Asking for a friend. 😝

@isleworthpast More more! And seeing as Wizard Earl had been mates with Kit Marlowe, maybe he came to Syon for a nice walk?

It's an entirely possible senario given that Shakespeare was being hosted by All Saints vicar and family friend Nicholas Byfield 👀

@DrFrancisYoung We had a lecturer like that. His slides were all in French and then went into German. 🤷

Huh this article I'm reading (in French) just suddenly switched to German. Not a quotation from German or a German paraphrase; the article just carries on in another language. Not even a paragraph break 🥴

What joy, writing chap 2 of my History of Art MA dissertation on Syphilis. Today researching medical illustrator Christopher D'Alton in 1860s. Having to put a warning on the preceding page! Shall I write: Beware! Gory AF! Is that academic enough? 🤣🤣 @WhoresofYore @DrAnneHanley

And then she was 25. Just like that. Blink of an eye. How the hell am I the mother of a 25 year-old with more chutzpah than humanly possible! @ayameep

@RebeccaRideal Ooh definitely 👍 please include Henry and Algernon Percy, Earls of Northumberland. Big political involvement throughout in a pragmatic and enlightened way, v different from other aristos re: colonialism. They don't get the column inches of other families, which is unfortunate.

So, MA Art History dissertation update. Mit circs extensions, retitles, loss of focus, menopause brain fog, no supervisor, can't read laptop screen without nodding off. So I bought monitor off FB marketplace. Cranked up the font size. Game changer! #maturestudent @BirkbeckUoL

Have just discovered that Chiswick derives from the Old English word Ceswican meaning 'cheese farm' and this will never not be funny to me 🧀

@GemmaHAuthor Visit Syon House in Brentford. Loads of history! Used to be an abbey, then Edward Seymour built a house on its foundations. Henry VIIIs body exploded there. All sorts! syonpark.co.uk

My goal this year is to visit as many historic sites in England (and beyond) that I can. I have got myself National Trust and Historic Houses membership - what are some of your favourite places to visit that I can add to my list? #Twitterstorians
