I still remember a time when it violated Visa and Mastercard rules for business businesses to charge an additional fee to pay with a card. These days, they all just hide it under the guise of offering a cash discount. But yes, if they don’t except cash, they definitely should not charge an additional convenience fee.

If a business does not accept cash, it should be illegal for them to add a credit card fee.

Yes, thank you stupid 1099-DA. I had a handful of smallish sales to pay some bills and I got one of these. Half had a listed cost basis, half did not. I have no clue. Filing an extension today just so I can take a few more days to (hopefully) figure out the cost basis for the missing ones. Ugh.

Did you actually report your crypto transactions to the IRS in your tax filings this year? Sounds like a dumb thing to do.

Nobody cared when there was advertising on cable TV stations. A 30-minute slot might have 12-15 minutes of commercials. What is it about streaming ads that drives people so crazy? It feels different. Maybe because we’re already spending way more to stream than we spent on cable?

How do businesses get away with rounding DOWN due to the penny shortage? Not only are there, in fact, plenty of pennies still in circulation, but that’s their problem and not my problem.

@SusieM414141 All seats used to cost the same, like a bus. But now there’s a huge difference in seat cost. That’s why you can’t change seats. It’s about the money.

This woman is on a Southwest Airlines flight that was obviously not full, so she decided to switch seats. Now they are telling her she has to go back to her assigned seat or get off the flight. If a flight is not full, should people be allowed to switch seats? It used to not be a problem, but maybe when there is an unfortunate crash it becomes harder to identify people.
