@RushdownX @road2dawn_ @Sinvicta Not at all. I think it’s fine, but way flashier is a stretch lol. Would be cool to see quick animations around certain abilities. I think once people stop sucking the farts and try to justify the purchase they will see how incredibly samey it is. Not inherently a bad thing.

I don't know if this is a hot take but I was really underwhelmed by Slay The Spire 2. It felt like StS1 with some new skins and MP. I expected flashier animations, totally new mechanics, cards etc., but it just felt like more of the same StS1 to me.

@Sinvicta I agree. Not necessarily a bad thing. I feel like a lot of people hated on Hades 2 because it was similar to the original but now looking at that game they did much more than StS is doing for its sequel. I think after some hours people will realize that it’s not some grand thing.

@road2dawn_ @Sinvicta The animation being flashier is like a sword swing when playing a card. Really not THAT wild. The game is great. More of the same with some new stuff. Not breaking new ground by any means. But I don’t think it set out to change the genre or do anything but that anyways.

@Sinvicta all of the things you said you expected were in the game? the animations are WAY flashier. it got a complete visual overhaul, if you go back and look at the first one it’s way different. the silent has a totally new mechanic (sly) and there’s 2 entirely new characters

The thing you guys dont realize is that @PlanetRidiculon are professional TOURING muscians.. they could play these songs LIVE and they would sound AMAZING! Check out Eatin Rats unplugged...

@PlanetRidiculon The music is absolutely one of my favorite parts of this game. I get sucked in right away as it builds to the boss and the lyrics kick in. Masterful shit. Also hilariously clever and every area sounds and feels so perfect.

What a day… so the review embargo for mewgenics lifts in 6 hours. that means 6+ years of our lives that we poured into this game will be boiled down to a number.. I’m tired, stressed and excited at the same time, and also worried about getting no sleep and being a zombie all day… wish us luck!
