I have literally never seen a crypto project try to "take the conversation private" like this. It suggests leadership sentiment that ANY public discussion of $ADA is net negative going forward. And, of course, that Charles is a whiny, fragile little authoritarian snowflake.

I can just URGE everyone in #Cardano to not support and/or use that. Discord as a platform is not the problem. (or maybe it is because new people will know nothing about us when we are talking in an isolated cave) The problem is WHO controls it and why. Back in the days IOHK tried EVERYTHING they could so that people cannot gather at one place and freely talk to each other - especially not the SPOs. If you are old enough and have been here long enough, you know when IOHK started the SPO Call. So instead of SPOs getting "pissed", they had/have an IO-controlled news source on what is next and what is about to happen - which put most SPOs from: "I do not like XYZ" into a mode like: "They said they will change XYZ, so I am now waiting for this change to happen." and then they just came up with a new story in each SPO call why the XYZ change did not happen... yet. The best example of control: At some point they "allowed" us to have a break-out channel on their Discord server after the SPO Call, so that SPOs could talk to each other and exchange their thoughts among each other using the voice group chat. I think it was in the first or second break-out room ever, when there were like 70-80 SPOs in the break-out room after the SPO Call, we talked about things we do not like, and someone from IOHK was in the break-out room (I will not say his name now, but you know who you are). And since the free speech went maybe a bit in a not-so-pro-IOHK direction, they just DELETED the channel under our asses - and the free-speech communication was gone in 1 second. I then invited everyone to the "We are Cardano" Discord server, where 40+ SPOs kept continuing to speak about what they had in mind. So final take: Dragging people away from a more public platform like X, into an isolated "cave" like Discord is a bad idea. Having this cave guarded by the same people who will burn you to the ground if you ask the "wrong" questions, is well... suicidal.

I can't believe I'm writing this. I always suspected Cardano may be a scam, but I did not realize it was this big. Charles sold over 1.5 billion ADA tokens between $1 and $3 in the 2021 run. Then also paid $200M in ADA to Gavin. He literally dumped billions on his community. He may have dumped more billions still since. Crazy. Check the last post in this thread too.

@Bkclaims @jazzwhistle If your argument is that holding BTC would have been better, than at todays lows you are correct. A month ago, ADA was outperforming the initial investment by almost 1 billion.

I'm looking for information on: • The original ICO BTC addresses and where those funds ultimately went • The formation and ownership history of the founding entities, including Input Output (IOG/IOHK), Emurgo, and the Cardano Foundation • Salary, bonus, dividend, and other compensation paid by these entities over time • Any public or private disclosures regarding treasury management, BTC sales, ADA sales, or distributions to owners and insiders • Historical corporate records, annual reports, audits, board minutes, presentations, or other relevant documents I'm not alleging wrongdoing. In fact, the answer may be entirely reasonable. But Cardano raised what would be worth billions of dollars today, and I think the community deserves a complete accounting of what happened to those assets and how the ecosystem was funded over time. If you have documents, research, leads, archived websites, old forum posts, wallet information, or firsthand knowledge, please reach out. I'd like to build the most complete historical record possible.

And you're comfortable with that outcome? If I understand it correctly, private companies received roughly 100,000 of the 108,000 BTC raised and approximately 4 billion of the 4.5 billion ADA created, ostensibly in exchange for developing the project. Is that accurate? If so, do you believe that allocation was fair, reasonable, and fully understood by the community at the time? Was that simply the bargain that was struck?
