Calling TES generic struggles with the same problem as calling LoTR/Hunger Games generic, where basically everything that came afterwards in the genre was heavily inspired by them

TES II and III def not generic. TES IV is pretty generic and moves the pseudo-Romanesque setting like 1000 years forward into medieval times. TES V, I'd actually say isn't generic for the time

ofc the biggest problem with national political talent is the dearth of subnational government experience and will be as long as "Become a SpAD for a backbencher and never experience organising bin collection" is the default route into parliament here
