@xxsnzz If it made sense, it would be easy to fix. Lots of people have seemingly irrational anxieties. Don't beat yourself up. Accept that part of you x

It's a term of endearment and thanks to both men and women in many areas of the UK. Not something I bat an eyelid on!

@Traveldoc1Doc Most appraisers are well meaning and supportive I hope! It's sad to hear this. The new GMC guidelines are perhaps more prescriptive, but it shouldn't feel like that.

It took until 3 years old for my second child to be diagnosed. He passed the newborn screen and distraction tests. His older sibling is deaf, but no further testing was deemed necessary. He is profoundly deaf in 1 ear, moderate in the other

@drruthannharpur @NCTcharity Can we also talk about the scandal of discharging women after a c section less than 12 hrs later. People who have had a major abdominal operation don’t need to be going home so soon. I am sure it is cost driven

“A woman who is infused with oxytocin during a normal labour is more ready to fall in love with her baby – this is really important. The love of a mother for her baby ensures the safety of that baby.” So says Caroline Flint, former trustee of @NCTcharity What I'm trying to figure out is how the Guardian editors concluded that the NCT is making women feel like failures if they haven't had a "normal birth" would be a good title. It strikes me as the least of our concerns. This article details how an anti-medical lobby group, managed to become the mainstay of antenatal "education" misleading and manipulating women out of relief and medical care. It describes how this same lobby group gained political sway, profoundly impacting NHS ethos, policy and practice for decades and in particular a quest to lower cs rates. This article also documents how this quest to avoid cs resulted in preventable deaths and severe injuries to babies and to mothers as found by recent Ockenden reports and Kirkup before her. The problem is not that the NCT is giving women bad feels. The problem is their influence is killing women and babies and the midwives and obstetricians have rolled over like submissive puppies and not firmly stood up for medical science and patient safety. As current President of @RCObsGyn, Ranee Thakar admits: doctors don’t give women full information, “because we think that women will be frightened and they will want to have a caesarean section if we tell them about birth trauma”. The same Ranee Thakar who told @hannahsbee who asked her about the drive to lower cs rates: “It’s difficult for me to say years later whether it was a mistake or not,” thetimes.com/life-style/hea… This story is about far more than bad feels. This about life and death for babies and pregnant women. I suggest we should worry far less about feelings and far more about facts and science. We should strive to ensure women are informed about risks in birth (and in feeding but that's another story and a whole other scandal), regardless of whether that provokes anxiety and we should insist on women making informed medical decisions. This is going to require surgical excision of the normal birth ideology that NCT had promoted for decades from our services and regular monitoring to ensure it does not return. The truth is not palatable here. It will be distressing for women to realise the extent to which we have been betrayed by those we trusted. It will be distressing for midwives, obstetricians and health visitors to realise just how deadly an anti medical ideology their professions have bought into. But as I'm less worried about bad feelings than I am about dead babies, I must stand with courageous and loving mother @FionaWinserRamm who lost her precious baby Aliona to medical neglect and point the finger @NCTcharity "You are the problem! You are contributing to this.’”

@drruthannharpur @NCTcharity I had both my sons via C-section. Over 20 years ago. Women must not start their journey as mothers feeling like failures. Your children will be fine. Plus they will still crash through the front door and throw up in your hallway at aged 17, however you birthed 😂
