@TheBackPocketAU I'm curious, is the insinuation that past players lead to poor performance? Looking at Geelong, Brisbane, Sydney and Collingwood, all bar Geelong have past players on the board, and all have past players on the coaching panel.

On the weekend Essendon only had 3 players from 22-25 on the field. Their injury list includes Redman, Ridley and Martin - arguably three of their best five or ten players - as well as Clarke, Bryan, Sharp and Setterfield.
