Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has distributed 40 new SUVs to traditional rulers, recognizing their role in maintaining peace and supporting governance. He said the vehicles would improve their mobility and strengthen community engagement under his administration’s development agenda.
During the council meeting in Abeokuta, he urged monarchs to foster investor-friendly environments and warned against hostility that could hinder economic growth, especially in areas like Yewa South, Ipokia, and Ijebu North. He also emphasized security vigilance, responsible land management, and cooperation with authorities to sustain development.
The gesture, tagged Ogun Monarch SUVs, highlights the government’s commitment to traditional institutions, while reinforcing their responsibility in promoting peace and investment. The Ogun Monarch SUVs initiative also underscores collaboration between the state and local leadership for socio-economic progress.
Do you think providing SUVs to traditional rulers will significantly improve governance and development at the grassroots level?
