Worth paying attention to — especially if you’re still on sim. Most traders rush this step. That’s where they blow up. Rush it and you risk oblivion. Get consistent first — then going live changes nothing
Jason Berry | MrConsistency@JasonHBerry

From recent conversations with traders I’m mentoring: Simulation is an amazing tool. It costs you nothing but time. The mistake? Going live too early. You can never go live too late—but rushing early? That’s when people overestimate their edge. Build consistency first. No rush.

If anyone has trading questions, post them below. Happy to let you pick my brain a bit. Just not too much… I still need it for trading, my wife, helping my kid with algebra homework, and working with the trainees and traders at @Positive_Equity

@Positive_Equity My long term goal is to develop my skills in prop trading and I am considering this position to be of great value. Do you see this role as a growth path within the firm, potentially leading to a market taking role in the future?

@tjfreeman_95 @gfc4 @jackschwager Nice post. For refence George and Jack poured over @JasonHBerry ’s stats going back 12-15 years. It was a tedious amount of picking over data, organizing meetings with back office staff & providing verified statements. We had no fun. @JasonHBerry had all the fun in the interview.

J, I wish everyone who criticized the New Generation of Market Wizards a few weeks ago could read this. The amount of people who went after @gfc4 and @jackschwager's picks specifically because they "have side hustles outside of trading" was genuinely baffling to me. Like that somehow made them less legitimate. @TheOneLanceB, @TheShortBear, @Off_The_Tape, @Positive_Equity - these are people who built real consistency in trading, created the time and freedom that comes with it, and then went and did something meaningful with that freedom. That to me is the whole point of trading. What you described about sitting at a food market in Malaysia, money in the bank, and feeling nothing is something I think more profitable traders experience than would ever admit it publicly. The process of figuring it out is consuming and exciting. And then one day you've figured it out, and the process becomes exactly what it's supposed to be: boring, repetitive, mechanical. The traders who get criticized for "doing other things" are usually the ones who answered that question honestly. Trading gave them the vehicle. They just had the self-awareness to figure out where they actually wanted to go. And by the way, I'd bet 99.9% of the people attacking the Wizards haven't mastered anything close to what those traders have built. It's a lot easier to criticize from the outside than to do the work.
J@j_intradaytrade

I remember when I “made it” with trading I was making good money and was living in a nice apartment with my wife We went on holiday to Malaysia and went to a big food market that was famous over there Everyone around me was having fun, yet I felt nothing I thought that my life would be great after succeeding at trading - yet I had no emotions, it was almost like I was depressed All of those hours I had put in to learning trading, and when I had finally done it, it didn’t make me happy at all I realised that trading is a great vehicle to make money, but at the end of the day: •You’re not working / collaborating with other people •You’re not having a positive impact on other people’s lives •It’s the same boring process every single day Figuring out the markets was the fun part, but now that I had done that I became extremely bored in life and didn’t know what to do So I started doing other things on the side - teaching trading, building softwares businesses, investing in other businesses This is when I got my passion back for life I realised that I didn’t enjoy trading - I enjoyed CREATING But I was lucky enough that trading providing both money and time, which allowed me to pursue what I was actually passionate about Just be warned - becoming a profitable trader isn’t going to make your life much better In fact, if trading is all that you have, it’s easy to become bored and depressed Use trading as a vehicle to pursue hard / creative things that you’re passionate about THIS is how trading should be done, not just used as something where you work for 1-3 hours a day and spend the rest of it gaming, watching netflix and scrolling on your phone
