Sam Allberry has resigned as a pastor. Allberry frequently talked about the difficulties of being attracted to men and remaining celibate. Sadly, he embraced this state of affairs as his only Christian option for avoiding sin and remaining faithful instead of seeing faithfulness as conformity to God’s design and faith that God can overcome sinful desires.

Statement from Immanuel Church about Sam Allberry. They knew he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with another man in 2022, didn't think it was disqualifying and still decided to bring him on as pastor, but then later discovered new information about this relationship that was previously undisclosed, and then gave him the boot.

Political violence is a feature, not a bug of progressivism. Because progressivism is built on top of a Critical Theory lens that sees the world through "Oppressed vs Oppressor" categories rather than a Christian Theology lens of "Right vs Wrong", it trains people to see opponents not as mistaken, but as evil oppressors. If you believe someone is mistaken, you try to persuade them (what @charliekirk11 did). If you believe someone is an evil oppressor ("literally Hitler!", "fascist", "existential threat to democracy", virtually everything and everyone is "racist"), you will feel a moral obligation to stop them. This is why there is radically disproportionate violence emerging on the Left.

The Secret Service doesn’t give you a choice. For decades we’ve seen in EVERY case where there has been a Presidential security breach, they tackle you, shove you, hell they will carry the President kicking and screaming if they have to. But twice now with Trump, they’ve shrugged and let him get his photo op or return to the stage?

This is the kind of rhetoric that can give rise to what happened tonight. Now, we don’t know yet that Trump was the target, but treating him as someone who is such a unique threat that reporters can’t even have a pleasant dinner with him is what has contributed to a political environment in which there have been serious attempts on his life twice. And now maybe three times. And Charlie Kirk was assassinated and broad daylight. This kind of rhetoric has to stop.

Thanking God that everyone at the White House Correspondents Dinner is OK and the would-be assassin was taken down before he could hurt anyone. Including Daily Wire’s own WONDERFUL editor-in-chief, Brent Scher who is currently being evacuated along with the other attendees. This may very well have been the third serious attempt on President Trump’s life. Perhaps even now Democrats and members of the media will consider how they speak of this president.

It’s wild how just a couple decades ago we were told we were on the brink of post-religious America. As Obama telegraphed, there was supposed to be just a few people left clinging to their religion, and the country would soon move on from them in their rural outposts. And yet here we are. Massive debates within Christianity taking place, showing how relevant doctrine is in ordinary life. New media focusing heavily on religion with apologist podcasts exploding, and even those who are not known for being religious unabashedly taking a strong interest in the words of Jesus now. Even democratic candidates are having to try to sell their Christian bona fides to voters. There’s a ripe harvest out there. x.com/pastorjgkell/s…
