Extreme weather events are reshaping how grid resilience is defined, but planning for more intense temperatures alone may not be enough. ⛈️ EPRI’s recent technical brief, 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙧𝙞𝙙: 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙖𝙥 𝘽𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙒𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙨, examines the complex, non‑linear relationship between weather and grid performance. Drawing on insights from EPRI research, the brief highlights critical data gaps, evaluates implications of recent NERC standards, and proposes more robust definitions of extreme temperature events to strengthen system planning. 🔗 epri.com/research/produ…

South Carolina is growing fast. To keep up with growing energy demand, we’re proposing a new natural gas plant in Anderson County that will power homes and businesses for generations. We recently had a chance to meet with residents about the project. spr.ly/6011B6rKxf.

France's Nuclear Policy Council has reconfirmed the need to revitalise the country's #nuclear power industry in order "to guarantee France's sovereignty, make energy accessible to the French people and our businesses, and combat climate change" tinyurl.com/v6ah8ede

Mississippi is on the move! 🚧🔥 Progress continues at our New Caledonia site, where crews have started setting up equipment to construct our gas-powered units! By 2028, this site will deliver 500 MW of reliable, low-cost energy—enough to power 250,000 homes across the region! This is all part of our commitment to building more megawatts to support America’s energy future! 🇺🇸

The Browns Ferry team is still hard at work during Unit 3's maintenance & refueling outage. 💪🔧 Crews have re-wedged the unit's generator, protecting the energy-producing coils inside the stator, and the reactor has also been replenished with new fuel to power the next two-year cycle of sustainable energy. These coordinated efforts help keep us on track to boost Unit 3's performance and safely return it to service. 🙌🔋

Hawai'i Gov. Josh Green, the 2026 CSG National President, and Utah Gov. Spencer Cox coauthored an op-ed calling on the need to bolster energy production. @POWERmagazine "America has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to rebuild its energy backbone," Govs. Cox and Green wrote. "For the first time in decades, capital investment, technological innovation, and bipartisan political will are aligning to modernize the infrastructure that powers our economy. Whether we seize this moment will define our nation’s strength for decades to come." powermag.com/americas-once-…
