Headshot commission for @AC9741485297

New prices! Rt helps a lot :))

I'm tired of people complaining about art commission prices. When you commission an artist, you buy the skills they learnt through years or even decades of practice, their artstyle, sometimes their reputation, and their TIME. I'm a full time artist and my prices are on the higher end, I'm not rich by any means but I live comfortably enough that I can commission other artists myself. For my financial situation, I consider $150 a fancy comm. And that's OK, because that's what my budget allows me. However, I will NEVER criticize artists who charge more because I know the work that goes into it, and that's why I charge high prices myself. The fact that I can't afford it does not mean it's overpriced, just that it's too much for ME personnaly. Because it's a LUXURY. There are so many different artists to commission out there, including a lot of underpriced ones because of their currencies, lack of confidence or experience. If really the price were the problem, I can guarantee you would be able to find something affordable. But no, the people complaining look down on artists. It's not about the price anymore, they just can't fathom that an artwork would cost more than $10. They are condescending with the terms they use, "basic drawing" "doodle", showing that they think of our work as low value or useless. Most artists charge way under minimum wage yet they still get complaints. God forbid we want to afford rent and eat 3 meals a day!
