ℍ𝕀𝕍 𝔸𝕎𝔸ℝ𝔼ℕ𝔼𝕊𝕊: Hi everyone! Sharing a helpful guide for fellow PLHIV who want to know more about filing for SSS Disability Benefit. Please read carefully and always double-check with SSS, hub, and your doctor. I Hope this helps someone today... "Disability Benefit Guide for PLHIV" Important HIV alone does not automatically qualify for SSS Disability Benefit. SSS looks at whether the condition causes permanent total or partial disability (functional limitation that prevents normal work). Many PLHIV get approved when there are complications, low CD4, opportunistic infections, or significant psychosocial/mental health impact. Always consult your doctor and SSS for your specific case. Qualifying Conditions • SSS member with at least 1 monthly contribution paid before the semester of contingency • Monthly pension: at least 36 monthly contributions • Lump sum: fewer than 36 contributions • Disability must be permanent (total or partial) as determined by SSS Required Documents • Disability Claim Application (DisCA) Form – download from sss.gov.ph • SSS Medical Certificate Form (accomplished by your doctor within 6 months) • Certified True Copy (CTC) stamped medical records: – Latest CD4 count – Viral Load (VL) – Confirmatory HIV test – Hospital abstracts, lab results, doctor’s reports – Records of complications, mental health evaluation, or functional limitations • Valid ID (SS card, UMID, passport, National ID, etc.) • Member’s Photo and Signature Form (for initial claims) How to File 1. Prepare your documents (get latest labs CTC-stamped and have your doctor fill the SSS Medical Certificate) 2. Download and fill the forms from sss.gov.ph 3. File online via My.SSS or at the nearest SSS branch 4. Undergo SSS medical evaluation 5. Wait for approval and payment Disbursement Options • UMID-ATM card (preferred) • PESONet-enabled banks • E-wallets (GCash, Maya, etc.) • Cash payout outlets You must enroll your preferred disbursement account in My.SSS (Disbursement Account Enrollment Module). How are you keeping up with your new diagnosis and work?

Are you just diagnosed? anong update sayo? Nabigyan ka na ba ng gamot? Or may lab tests ka pa need gawin?

@idnAzoP Yeah usually in the US. Okay lang naman. I pack my ARVs and bring it w me lol. Mga 1,3,5 mos.

@PozitiveReality Is this abroad? How do you travel with arv at the a/port for long term stay abroad?

I will need to refill bago ako magtravel travel ule for work.

Hindi nakakabawas ng “cool” ang pagiging maingat. Mas nakakabilib yung marunong mag-protect ng sarili at ng partner.

@PozitiveReality 3 bottles naman, i asked the nurse sa hub if we are affected sa hub sabi nya may 3 months buffer naman daw sila so nothing to worry daw.

If you're young and reading this. Your worth is never measured by whether you've had sex. But if you choose to become sexually active someday, make sure it's informed, consensual, protected, and never coz you felt pressured or had no other choice. Your future is worth protecting.

Sex education doesn't encourage kids to have sex. It teaches them: Consent, Boundaries, How STIs are transmitted, How to protect themselves, When and where to seek help. Information doesn't corrupt children. Ignorance does.

Every time I hear kids that have been diagnosed with STIs, I don't ask, "Anong ginagawa ng bata?" I ask, "Saan pumalya ang mga matatanda?" Parents. Schools. Healthcare. Government. Communities. Walang batang dapat mapunta sa sitwasyong kailangan nilang harapin ang ganito. Gosh.

The phase 3 trial results for the 1/wk oral tablet met its target perfectly. Both ISLEND-1 and 2 trials proved this new weekly option is statistically just as powerful as the daily meds w zero new safety concerns. This isnt a concept anymore. Global regulatory filings are next.

Don't underestimate the power of simply staying consistent. Taking your meds. Showing up. Taking care of yourself. It may not feel like a victory today, but one day you'll realize those ordinary choices quietly changed your entire life.

The arrival of the first batch of ARVs is good news. Now comes the part that matters just as much, getting those medicines into the hands of people who need them, as quickly as possible. Hoping every treatment hub receives their allocation without unnecessary delays.

Some days, taking your ARVs is the easiest part. Dealing with the anxiety, the waiting, the finances, and the loneliness is the harder battle. If you're still here, I'm proud of you.
