If a victim is on a video call, saying he is being attacked, naming the violence as it unfolds, what exactly remains “accidental” about his death?
This is also not an isolated incident. India’s trains have repeatedly become sites of unchecked mob aggression.
The pattern is becoming impossible to ignore. When a bearded Muslim man can be beaten inside a public train, accused without proof, denied help by fellow passengers, and then reduced to an “accident” in official language, it reflects a deeper moral and institutional failure. This is not just about one killing, it is about a system where Muslim lives are increasingly treated as expendable, where violence is rationalised, and where justice is expected to wait while narratives are managed.

In a video shared on X, Thapar said the criticism stemmed from her Instagram reel where she described namaz as a full-body exercise beneficial for mental health and digestion. She clarified that as a healthcare professional, she has also created content highlighting Hindu practices such as yoga and Surya Namaskar in the past.
Addressing the trolling, she questioned why people remain silent when women are disrespected, adding that she has grown used to online hate over the years. However, she said the purpose of her message was to encourage people to speak up when they witness something wrong.
The controversy began after her March 25 post about celebrating Eid with friends and discussing the benefits of namaz went viral, drawing mixed reactions. While some supported her perspective, others criticised her and compared it to her previous statements on traditional practices.

I left for bombay at 6.30 am like the hard working professional that I am & stopped the car at 7 am to make this reel as I’ve long realised that silence is not a virtue & one must speak up when they are disrespected. Yes if wrong things happen at any workplace that are against basic human rights, me & all of us should speak up. I don’t care about the personal trolling, I’m used to it last 5 years since shark tank but the purpose of this reel is to request all the proud Indians in this country to start speaking up when they see something wrong, out of humanity, out of patriotism. Jai hind. Now off to another joyful & complex day at work !
