I can't publish the whole thing but this is something the collective may find useful. It is a flow diagram for the diagnosis of which type of diabetes you have on the presentation of classic symptoms. Co-authored with actual medical folk and published in a peer-reviewed journal.

A clear message from the 'Closing the Gap' panel is the need for cultural understanding and context. Without that, Western medicine and technology will never reach its full potential.

I managed to get a question in on how much UK and US subsidy policy influences Aus policy. The short answer is Aus Gov speaks with bodies like UK NICE but influence is more 'wait and see how it goes'. Evidence is king ;)
