@sardesairajdeep Bhai, watched #Satluj - it is nothing but a poor attempt to tarnish the image of KPS Gill!
How hard the Khalistanis try via all means, no one can erase his place in history - he will always remain a hero to millions and a towering figure in Punjab's fight against terrorism!!
English

IMPORTANT: So censorship has reached OTT as well? Satluj has been pulled from Zee5 without any clear explanation. The platform merely says it will be “unavailable in India until further notice.” OTT won audiences because it gave space to bold, original storytelling. If that space shrinks, what exactly is left?😡

@GCLlive @vishy64theking With both Gukesh and Vaishali set to compete for the World Championship this year, how do you assess their chances? What do you see as their biggest strengths, and what challenges will they need to overcome to bring both world titles to India?
English

Got something you've always wanted to ask Viswanathan Anand? 🤔
It's time to grab this golden opportunity as we head into the Season 4 Player Draft on Monday 👏

@sardesairajdeep So you've voted, travelled abroad on an Indian passport, paid taxes with your PAN, linked everything to Aadhaar... and suddenly you're unsure whether you're a citizen?
That's not a bureaucracy problem. That's a prime-time narrative problem!!
English

I have a VOTER ID card, but NO, it is not proof of citizenship.
I have a AADHAR card but NO, it is not proof of citizenship
I have a PAN Card, but NO, it is not proof of citizenship.
I have a PASSPORT but NO, it is not proof of citizenship.
So who will give me a CITIZENSHIP CERTIFICATE? A govt bureaucrat?
My question is simple: is the problem with the citizen, or with the Mai Baap State itself?😡

@anandvasu Thank you for sharing this! This was an era when India produced a golden crop of spinners and that is the reason why spinners like Rajinder Goel, V V Kumar, Padmakar Shivalkar never got a chance. Salute and respect to all of them!!
English

Growing up in Madras in the 1908s and 1990s, there were not a lot of cricketers to hero worship. There were many, many good ones, of course, but with so few India regulars, it was less about Test caps and achievements and statistics and more about the stories people told you.
One person I heard about so much was VV Kumar.
Whenever a legspinner caught the eye, or did something big in international cricket, someone would say: ‘That’s all very well but you should have seen VV Kumar ...’
That he almost bowled India to victory on debut (seven wickets against Pakistan in Delhi), went wicketless playing through injury in his second (against England) and never played again, is astonishing, given he was the first to 300 and then 400 Ranji wickets.
Once Chandrasekhar came in and established himself, there was little chance.
Never saw him bowl, obviously, but bumping into him a couple of years ago when tucking into a masala dosai was a total fanboy moment.
And, he certainly did not look his age.
Happy 91st Birthday sir!

@ilan_ruby Thank you, @ilan_ruby and the entire Elk and Ruby team for your trust and support. It is an honour to see 'The Chess Course' join the Elk and Ruby catalogue.
I hope this work helps students, trainers, schools, and academies worldwide develop a deeper understanding of chess.

Elk and Ruby publishes The Chess Course by Praful Zaveri
The Chess Course is a comprehensive chess training program specially designed for students, trainers, schools, academies, and self-learners. Created by renowned FIDE Trainer and chess educator Praful Zaveri, this structured curriculum systematically guides the learner from the fundamentals of chess to the level of a strong competitive player.
This 424-page training manual contains 75 carefully designed lessons divided into six progressive sections — Fundamentals, Checkmates, Openings, Middlegame, and Endgame. Every concept is explained in simple language using 628 illustrative examples and diagrams, followed by practical exercises that bring the total number of exercises in the book to 650.
What makes The Chess Course unique is its scientific and academic training methodology. Each lesson is designed not only to teach concepts, but also to develop calculation, thinking process, discipline, and practical understanding through guided exercises and evaluation.
Legendary Indian Grandmaster Pravin Thipsay describes the book as:
“A notable contribution to chess literature. With simple language and hundreds of illustrative examples, the author has made a genuine effort to help readers improve their chess playing skills.”
He further emphasizes that the book provides readers an opportunity to understand “the thinking process of champions” — one of the most important factors in improving at chess.
Whether used in classrooms, chess academies, or for self-study at home, The Chess Course serves as a complete roadmap for mastering the royal game in a clear, structured, and enjoyable manner.
Recommended for players, trainers, schools, academies, and parents.
This book is jointly published by Elk and Ruby and Indian Chess House. A series of workbooks to reinforce the course will be published later.

No amount of justification can convince me of the non-selection of Aquib Nabi. Poor guy bowled his heart out for two seasons and picked 100+ #RanjiTrophy wickets only to be ignored for someone who had played just 2 games this season.
Please stop this nonsensical justifications: Hit the deck bowler, hit the head bowler, hence picked. While I can understand they are special skill sets, it can’t be rewarded without decent game time, by ignoring someone with unprecedented performances for seasons. I’m afraid, a wrong message has been sent out to the youngsters who are giving their heart and soul in the #RanjiTrophy
English

Lalit Modi said, “Chris Gayle called me after the 2011 IPL auctions and told me why he wasn’t picked. I said it’s all about performance and you’re a performer, but you couldn’t. He then said ‘I badly needed to play because I had to clear my debts and pay my bills’.
I made a phone call, No.1, 2, 3 - all denied. Then I called Vijay Mallya and said ‘give this bloke a chance, you’ve an opening in your team’. Mallya said ‘Lalit, I’ll pay him if he performs’. I told Chris to go there and perform and Gayle set world records and got his own cheque books in RCB”. (The Overlap Cricket).
