The Nigerian military's blitzkrieg in recent months, led largely by the NAF, is forcing many fighters to abandon their strongholds and move southward. The NAF needs to expand its operational footprint in the Southwest. The Defence HQ has revealed that the recent kidnapping in Oyo State were carried out by terrorists of the JAS Group that have been dislodged from other parts of the country due to high intensity operations being conducted. Dislodged JAS fighters have been gradually expanding their reach beyond the northeast, infiltrating forest corridors in North West and North Central. Now, they are carrying out kidnappings in Oyo State. This movement of fleeing terrorists into the Southwest is a clear and present threat. We cannot allow them to gain a foothold in the Southwest.

WHY I STAYED BULLISH ON BUA CEMENT SINCE 2025 The dividend from BUA Cement Plc landed safely at ₦10 per share, representing a significant increase compared to ₦2.05 paid in the previous year. The company’s Q1 2026 result further revealed that earnings per share remain on track to surpass the previous year’s performance, strengthening the strong earnings momentum behind the business. I have married to this stock since March 2025 when it traded around ₦83-a price level that previously served as a strong technical support zone in 2023 and later became a key psychological accumulation level for institutional investors.

BREAKING: Rivers Governor Fubara Withdraws from APC Primaries, Pledges Support for Party Candidate Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries scheduled for Thursday. In a personally signed statement titled “My decision to withdraw from the Rivers State Gubernatorial Primaries,” released on Wednesday night, Fubara announced his withdrawal and declared he would fully support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate.

Following extensive consultations with party structures and leadership, I am pleased to endorse Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki (MFR) as my preferred successor under the platform of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). Young, pro-people, astute, and broad-minded, Amb. Yahaya Seriki has been a great political mobiliser with profound investments in and extensive goodwill among the people of Kwara State. I have no doubt about his capacity and that his choice is appropriate for the people of our state at this time. While this does not in any way preclude all other aspirants from contesting in the primaries, I urge members and leaders to affirm the choice of Seriki as our candidate for cohesion, unity, and continuous success of the party as we hold our gubernatorial primaries on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The choice of Amb. Yahaya Seriki is neither a disapproval of any of our eminently qualified aspirants nor a whimsical attempt to delegitimise the noble aspirations of our people. But in a race involving some 16 great minds for one office, only one person can take the shot at a time. Finally, I acknowledge and commend the statesmanship of our aspirants, all of whom have shown discipline and impressive capacity to build on the undeniable achievements of our administration over the last seven years for the good of the people of Kwara State.

I have no doubt about his capacity and that his choice is appropriate for the people of our state at this time.
