@Folasade_Ade @ConnectLibs Thank you for the encouraging comments. I will persevere with the project
English

I so much love this project of yours @PranishaP I just left hospital like an hour ago after spending nine days with my kid and all his complaint was boredom throughout. Well done #LibrariansWhoDare twitter.com/PranishaP/stat…
Pranisha Parag@PranishaP
@librarian_nkem We have undertaken a project on providing bibliotheraphy to children who are hospitalized in public hospitals. We chose this as our focus since often children are hospitalized for long periods of time and remain ill in beds unstimulated and bored. #TakingLibrariesToHospitals

Why are you #LibrariansWhoDare 🤔🤔
English

African Public library service is shifting from a focus on books to responding to identified community needs in partnership with other development partners. This vision is being pushed by @AfLIACon #LibrariansWhoDare #TeamAfLIA

During Mandela #yaliserves event, #iRead2heal was organised. A voluntary service and visit to Alimosho General Hospital, Lagos, where iVolunteers read to children on sickbed. The moments were emotional yet fulfilling for the nurses, parents, children and iVolunteers. @YALINetwork twitter.com/librarian_nkem…

African public libraries have the potential to contribute to community development in important areas such as health, employment & agric. Sadly, most people see them only as providers of book lending & reference services, rather than innovation & technology. #LibrariansWhoDare

@abapolot @librarian_nkem Yes, there are 12 participants in this cohort of leaders. I am sure that AfLIA will offer other opportunities. The main criteria is for an institution to be a member of AfLIA
English

@PranishaP @librarian_nkem Wap, great one. Are there other cohorts to AfLAc the Academy? How can one join? @PranishaP
English

@abapolot @librarian_nkem I agree. Librarians can only grow if ideas are shared. If we want to go fast, we need to go alone but if we want to go far we need to go together#LibrariansWhoDare
English

@librarian_nkem @PranishaP Very interesting now...Am imagining full colour, talking books, big sized books would be area therapy. AfLAC has really built innovative library leaders.
English

@librarian_nkem Thank you. I will certainly share as the project progresses #LibrariansWhoDare
English

@PranishaP Thank you @PranishaP We hope that in the nearest future you will share with us again on the progress of the Biblio-Therapy project.
It's been great having you. Thank you.
English

@abapolot @librarian_nkem Bibliotheraphy is healing through books, reading and stories. I will share pictures soon
English

@PranishaP @librarian_nkem What is bibliotherapy. Can you sharesome session photos of these innovative idea? this would be a great project to replicate.
English

@librarian_nkem The progress is measured by working with nurses who assess the recovery of the sick child. We also monitor the learning and literacy level of the patient by giving them their own books in the absence of the library.Sustainably plans includes setting up box libraries in the hospi
English

@PranishaP How do you measure your progress in achieving the expected outcomes?
What are the sustainability plans for the project?
#LibrariansWhoDare #TeamAfLIA
English

@librarian_nkem Yes, for those children who cannot get out of beds. This is a one on one, shared- paired reading. We also read to a small group of children
English

@librarian_nkem We are working with stakeholders which include nurses, doctors, psychologists, community volunteers , storytellersband booksellers
English

@PranishaP What are the expected outcomes of this project?
Are you working with stakeholders in your community?

@PranishaP Great answer, @PranishaP
As a participant in #AfLAc what project are you undertaking in your community? Why did you choose that particular project.

English

@librarian_nkem The maiden African Leadership Academy aims at building knowledge, skills and confidence in a group of African Public Librarians. This will foster partnerships between participants, libraries and ignite new services which will transform communities.
English

@PranishaP Thank you @PranishaP
As a participant in the AfLIA Leadership Academy can you tell us a little bit of what the academy is all about?
