If his performance at work is fine, sacking him because he has a large family says more about the employer than the employee. A man earning ₦150k with 7 kids may need guidance, financial planning, or even empathy, not unemployment. Punishing a worker for his personal life won’t solve poverty. It will only create more of it.

I think I need to visit the campuses of Nigerian universities more often. I was quite shocked to learn recently that undergraduates in many Nigerian universities wear school uniforms, like secondary school students. I would have absolutely hated it if it had happened in my time.
