@KhaosodEnglish @PravitR Technically this is not how diplomacy works. That task is up to the "elected" leader (president/prime minister) not Thai people 🤧

#Lebanon: CPJ calls for an investigation into the apparent targeting of Steve Sweeney, a British correspondent for Russia Today, and his camera operator Ali Rida Sbeity, who were injured when an Israeli air strike hit just feet away from where they were filming while wearing clearly marked press gear and with their equipment clearly visible in southern Lebanon. cpj.org/2026/03/israel…

Street food vendors in northeastern Thailand say they can no longer maintain current prices for grilled pork and chicken skewers as ingredient costs continue to rise, prompting a price adjustment. A survey conducted at 08:00 on Friday in Muang district found steady customer traffic at food stalls, including a Sukhothai-style grilled pork shop located along Kasikorn Thung Sang–Nong Phai Road in tambon Sila. Vendors reported significant increases in raw material prices since early March. Chicken thigh meat has risen from 250 baht to 350 baht per 5 kilogrammes, while chicken liver increased from 80 baht to 110 baht per kilogramme. Chicken frames and skin have also seen similar price hikes. Ms Wassana Thetsathan, the vendor, said the shop has been holding prices at three skewers for 20 baht but will adjust to 10 baht per skewer starting March 21. She said portions will be increased to ensure customers feel they are receiving fair value. “We can no longer absorb the rising costs,” she said, adding that the adjustment would also help reduce expenses on items such as skewers and plastic bags. She noted that customers generally understand the situation, as prices of many goods have been rising across the board. #Thailand #วิกฤตน้ำมัน

6. Think for yourself. Iranian attacks on all GCC countries, again HARM Thai citizens working there — Singapore even had to evacuate our citizens there. There has been too much focus on PR for Iran, while ignoring the HARM done by Iran & its proxies on a Thai ship & its citizens.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on Thursday expressed condolences over the death of a Thai worker in Israel amid ongoing fighting in the Middle East, reiterating that the government stands ready to assist and repatriate nationals who wish to return. Speaking at Parliament at 18:30, Anutin said the Ministry of Labour already has assistance measures in place, while Israeli authorities typically provide full care for those killed in such incidents. He urged Thai workers in Israel to strictly follow official guidance, noting that preliminary information indicated the deceased was not in a shelter at the time of the incident and may have returned to their accommodation or stepped out on personal errands when the attack occurred. “This is a deeply regrettable incident,” he said. Anutin added that reports indicated Thai workers who complied with safety instructions remained secure. He stressed that the Thai government is prepared to facilitate the return of any workers wishing to come back to Thailand, even on a temporary basis. “The number of those wishing to stay is still higher than those who want to leave,” he said. #Thailand #Israel #Iran

Caretaker Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow met with Iranian Ambassador Nasereddin Heydari on Thursday to reiterate Thailand’s request for urgent assistance in the search and rescue of three Thai crew members on board the vessel “Mayuree Naree.” “The Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of Iranian naval support for this humanitarian mission and the facilitation of safe passage for Thai commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz,” the ministry stated on Facebook. “The Iranian Ambassador informed that the Thai side’s requests had already been conveyed to the relevant Iranian authorities. In principle, the Iranian side stands ready to assist in both requests. Regarding the passage of Thai commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, which had already been discussed between the two Foreign Ministers, the Iranian Ambassador agreed that Thailand, as a friendly nation, should be permitted safe passage. The Iranian Ambassador will follow up on these two requests with Iran’s relevant authorities and revert back to the Thai side at the earliest opportunity. “The Thai Foreign Minister reiterated the urgent return to dialogue and diplomacy. The Iranian Ambassador asked Thailand and ASEAN countries to urge all conflicting parties to help end the ongoing conflict in the region.” (Photo from Foreign Ministry.) #Thailand #Iran

"..For those Thais who think they do not care about the war, you now have a direct incentive to call for peace. Trump and Netanyahu may not want to listen, but a louder, collective voice from around the world will eventually make them think twice." Column by @PravitR
