@APStylebook What about double modifiers, like “non-English-speakers who were…”
English

Use a hyphen if it’s needed to make the meaning clear and avoid unintended meanings: better-qualified candidate, little-known song, French-speaking people, loose-knit group, low-income workers, self-driving car, bases-loaded triple, one-way street. #APStyleChat (2/4)

When a compound modifier — two or more words that express a single concept — precedes a noun, you must decide: Hyphenate that modifier, or not? Often there’s not one absolute answer. #APStyleChat (1/4)
English

First, a reminder: Hyphens aren’t the same as dashes. Hyphens are joiners. Use them to avoid ambiguity or to form a single idea from two or more words. AP style also uses hyphens for ranges, such as 101-155. There should be no spaces surrounding a hyphen. (1/2) #APStyleChat

@APStylebook Also, we spell out Texas. One of our biggest peeves is people using postal abbreviations when not addressing mail. But, that’s what we’re for. Hawaii included!
English

We spell the state Hawaii, not Hawai'i.
Hawaiians are members of an ethnic group indigenous to the Hawaiian Islands and are also called Native Hawaiians. Use Hawaii resident for anyone living in the state.

@Acrobat We love this feature. It’s indispensable, as most of Acrobat DC. It’s especially useful on tablet.

We plan to do a little bit of shop talk from time to time. We are into stuff like this. Yet we want to make it fun for anybody. We can't market you without correct spelling and form. So, when do YOU use "lie" and lay?"

It’s literally time for another quiz! This time, you can test your knowledge of word usage, from “l” as in “literally” to “m” as in “might.” #ChicagoStyle cmosshoptalk.com/2019/03/26/chi…
