Several parts of the region are experiencing poor weather conditions. As a result, the public is advised to use extra caution while travelling. Reduced visibility caused by blowing snow and rapidly changing weather conditions are likely to create difficult driving situations. Motorists are advised to: ➡️Increase following distance to allow more time to react ➡️Slow down and adjust speed to match road and visibility conditions ➡️Avoid sudden braking or lane changes ➡️Stay alert for roadside hazards ➡️ Check 511.ca for road updates ➡️ Check weather.gc.ca for current weather conditions. ^pia

WEATHER WARNING (March 10 – 12, 2026) Significant winter weather is expected across the North East Region over the next 48 to 72 hours. Conditions will vary by area, but hazardous travel and rapidly changing weather are likely. Snowfall amounts between 10 and 45 cm are expected, along with 5 to 15 mm of freezing rain. High winds may significantly reduce visibility due to blowing snow, and heavy rain could lead to localized or flash flooding in areas where snowpack remains. Slippery and icy roads are expected due to freezing rain, while snowfall rates of 2 - 4 cm per hour will create poor visibility and hazardous driving conditions. Strong winds will further reduce visibility in blowing snow, and heavy rain may lead to localized flooding in certain areas. Please use caution if travelling, adjust your driving to the conditions, and monitor local forecasts for updates. Stay safe, everyone. ^rw #OPP #Safety
