@ptolemayosian Unfortunately you might have to read that part of history again, USA was the main weapon supplier to Japan until Pearl Harbor was hit. so essentially the US was the enabler of Japan’s war crimes, include the Nanking massacre.

@PresidentXiCHN Say thank you to the USA. Without them it would be Nanjing every day.

80 years ago today, on the weathered deck of a battleship in Tokyo Bay, Japan formally signed its surrender, marking the end of humanity’s darkest hours.
Justice triumphed over tyranny.
Light banished the shadows of war.
This was the moment of victory for the Chinese people in the WW2. But that victory was drenched in unimaginable sacrifice.
Over 14 years endured; more than 30 million lives lost.
Many friends around the world came, stood with us and fought against the evil.
These stories must be remembered.
These heros shall never be forgotten.
And yet, even today, some people still seek to distort history, obscure the truth. They are not only betraying the history, but also assaulting our peace.
Today, we commemorate our victory with a solemn ceremony.
To honor the ones who sacrificed their lives;
To mourn those we have lost;
And to remind the world that peace is not a gift, but a duty that should be safeguarded by every generation.
Never forget. Never again.

@PresidentXiCHN Yes I am flying out Beijing right now for this.

@PresidentXiCHN Who had access to his account to write that he left? 🤔

@PresidentXiCHN I was raised on a diet of fried rice, prepared with different additions to enhance the experience.

@PresidentXiCHN It’s not overlooked or untold. There are even movies about Imperial Japan’s atrocities in Asia. It just doesn’t make as compelling cinema to Western audiences when it’s two non-Western cultures at war in the pre-modern era.
English

88 years ago, Japan formally launched its war against China, opened the darkest chapter of World War II in Asia, during which more than 30 million Chinese people lost their lives.
While the Holocaust is widely known and immortalized through countless Oscar-winning films like Schindler’s List, Life is Beautiful, and The Pianist, ensuring the horrors of Nazi Germany are never forgotten, the war crimes committed by Imperial Japan during the same period have never been in popular cinema. The atrocities inflicted on Chinese, Korean, and many Southeast Asian nations remain overlooked, the suffering of millions left untold.
Without remembrance, the wounds of history fester, the hatred lingers, and the healing will never begin.
