North Carolina locals, take your corners! Is it a cold drink? A coke? A soda? *Anyone who says pop is getting sent to the corner. 💁🏼‍♀️
Little Richard 🐿️🇺🇲🦝@RichardDale70

@dogwoodblooms I like the term sandwich. I feel like someone was trying to "church" it up. Sub is acceptable. The rest are definitely yankee terms. What do you think about soft drink, pop, soda, soda pop or coke?

@dogwoodblooms This makes me so sad. I grew up in southwest Va. We went to Asheville growing up and that’s where I went to church camp- well in Arden. Asheville has changed so much from a cute town to something else. I would not walk around by myself there any more.

Folks keep tagging me. They want to know: Is Asheville really that bad? YES. And regardless of what this article says, it’s not a new problem that developed after Helene. I grew up in Canton. When we “went to town,” it was to Asheville. Mamaw and Papaw took me to the flea market in Asheville multiple times a year. We did our clothes shopping at the Asheville JCPenney. When Papaw had to go to the VA, it was in Asheville. Daddy took me to the Belle Chere music festival every year. Back then, Asheville was a hillbilly Mecca. Old men sat on benches outside Hardee’s with their sausage biscuits and coffee to gossip. Bluegrass played on gas station speakers. People clogged on weekends. Folks sounded like they’d never left WNC—the accents were thick. By the time the city ended Belle Chere in 2013, Asheville had become a place I didn’t recognize. Transplants had flooded out the locals, who escaped to Madison and Haywood counties. Local accents? Gone. Bluegrass and clogging? Bastardized by people with zero ties to the traditions. The old men at Hardee’s? Replaced by homeless junkies nodding off and drooling on themselves. It’s so bad that I’ve avoided Asheville for more than a decade. Only one of my children has ever been to the city, and she only went so I could take her to the Biltmore House. Asheville is like an infection—and as much as it pains my heart to admit it, that infection is spreading. The last time I was in Canton, we went out to eat. There wasn’t a single person in the restaurant with a local accent. Women in Lilly Pulitzer and men in dock shoes walked the sidewalks where overalls and work boots once ruled. It won’t be long before the same policies that created this new Asheville turns the rest of WNC into a shell of its former self. 💔

@Reese10Angel • Little Tart Bakeshop has AMAZING breakfast biscuits + good coffee • Bartaco is the best non-Hispanic Hispanic food if you need something quick. All their tacos are BOMB and their tamales are good too. • Okiboru is Michelin rated ramen and their pork rice bowl is my fav.

@DutifulRebel @Tanarkus @ChadDKollas @Publix I get paper scripts for adhd meds (all my others are electronic) due to the massive shortage over the past few years. I’ve had to go to 5+ pharmacies to get it filled bc it wasn’t in stock. In my state, they can’t transfer controlled scripts to other pharmacies if electronic

Dear @Publix Your pharmacist at Publix Pharmacy #1506 will not fill a prescription for a controlled pain medication for a patient because: 1) The patient doesn’t look “sick enough” to be receiving palliative care, and… 2) The pharmacist doesn’t actually understand the definition of palliative care. Please help fix this unacceptable situation ASAP.

Hopefully your Michaels is better than ours. I went to pick up 100% cotton thread for a project I was doing. They hadn’t even paid attention and it was all polyester. They didn’t even know there was cotton thread🤦🏼‍♀️ and they were genuinely puzzled why polyester couldnt work bc thread is thread. (I needed cotton to absorb some of the dissolvable stabilizer I was using and didn’t want to wait a week for delivery- spoiler alert I had to wait a week for delivery).

@VitaCatholica With Michaels buying their in house branding and positioning itself in the retail crafter market to be competitive with Hobby Lobby, I had hopes they'd expand back into fabrics. It hasn't happened yet.

Too bad they now have a crap ton of stuff to fix. Shipping, reaching a customer service agent bc it changes every time I have an issue and on and on and on. Literally spend less each month and are debating as a household to unsubscribe. The only thing that stops us are 2 subscriptions to products we can’t find on shelves and we use them basically every day.

Amazon's internal metrics said customers waited under 60 seconds for customer service. Jeff Bezos picked up the phone in a meeting and waited more than 10 minutes. The head of customer service had been defending the number. Bezos said "Ok, let's call." He dialed Amazon's 1-800 line on speaker. The room sat there for over ten minutes before a rep answered. The metric didn't survive the meeting. Bezos has a saying: when the data and the anecdotes disagree, the anecdotes are usually right. Metrics don't measure reality. They measure what you designed them to measure. Customer service dashboards commonly filter out abandoned calls, cap hold time at the IVR timeout, and start the clock after the menu tree completes. Every one of those choices pushes the average down. The customers hanging up at minute 9 are not in the denominator. The 60-second number was technically accurate and practically wrong. That call broke through a defended metric in a way no spreadsheet could have. The head of CS had dashboards and a team whose job was to report that number going down quarter over quarter. Bezos had 10 minutes of hold music and a room full of people watching. This is the executive test almost nobody runs. Call your own 1-800 line. Try to buy your own product in incognito. Every senior leader can do it in under 15 minutes. Almost none do, because the dashboards feel like the truth and the dashboards say things are fine. The measurement got redesigned. Wait times actually fell. When your data says you're winning and your customers say you're losing, the customers are right. The data was built by people whose job depends on it going down.

@WaglerMuse @JBoudouris Mlb used to send season ticket holders their tickets on ticketmaster, but if you wanted to re-sell if you couldn’t make a game or what not, they made you use stubhub or seatgeek.

For anyone who uses StubHub to buy/sell tickets, a cautionary post... I purchased four tickets to all three sessions of March Madness in St Louis on March 20 and 22 for $2000 total. When Illinois did not end up in the STL bracket, I sold the tickets on Stubhub on March 15...

She has stuff she has to ask and is told no one can be in the room bc it changes the answers. Mainly child trafficking, although I know other hospital systems ask other questions. I respect your choice, but she was probably annoyed bc her supervisor is going to get on her bc she couldn’t ask those questions alone with your daughter. Likely she doesn’t have anything against your choice other than it’ll be her fault by the supervisor.

She’s already a bit shy at the doctor’s office, and that just would’ve made it worse for her. That alone reassured me I made the right call. Sometimes it’s not about being difficult, it’s about listening to your instincts and making sure your child feels safe, no matter where you are.

Drs have such weird control issues that you literally have to go into every apptmnt acting like you’ve never heard of the concept of medication. I’m not just talking opioids or benzos. I mean even if you want migraine meds for a migraine you have to let them come up w the idea
Immuno(un)compromising Writer@jacobscheier

To the drs saying they don't act out of a desire to control: just because you are not in touch with your own unconscious will to power or have not examined your own ideology, doesn't make what I wrote untrue.
