@McMfog @DaveClegane I’m just trying to give an understanding of the offside rule by comparing it to the NFL. If you understood both sports then you’d know that the LOS functions similarly to the offside rule. It’s there to stop the attacking players from gaining an unfair advantage on the defence.

@PrettyboyswagXD @DaveClegane Wrong. Look at any Hail Mary compilation. If the receiver broke free from the DB, and the QB HEAVED one into the end zone.. that would be an offsides penalty in soccer. With soccer rules the receiver would have to wait for the throw Lining up in the end zone IS ILLEGAL.

@McMfog @DaveClegane Well yes because NFL is a game of set pieces and football is a game of 2 halves. A receiver can catch the ball anywhere AFTER the QB snaps the ball and begins play. But there’s no snaps in football hence the offside rule to stop players poaching behind the line of defence.
