I'll try for you. Its is two policemen and some civilian bystanders taking on a man who has stabbed two men and chased others and is still holding the knife and will not let go. The policemen and teh bystanders are putting themselves in harms way to protect others and in doing so must act to ensure the crazy stab man is no longer a threat. he is a threat as long as he is holding the knife and therefore any force necessary must be taken to ensure no more danger to the general public or the police. In this circumstance if armed police had been there i am sure this man would be dead. I put to you how would you have handled this? Would you have made him drop the knife by force or just asked politely until someone with the guts to tackle him came along? Madam Its people like you that moan and whinge about things like this that one day will most likely need people to tackle people in this manner to keep you safe. I wonder if you would defend others if it came to it???? I seriously doubt it

How can anyone can describe this as anything but a bunch of thugs kicking a man in the head who is already disabled and lying on the ground. Rowley has no argument here. This is police brutality at its worst.

My tweet is all over the media because Zack retweeted it. Do I regret posting it? No. The footage of the arrest was horrendous. I am far from the only person on here who expressed concern about it. The people who should be ashamed are the ones celebrating the violence.

If UK police are trained to kick people repeatedly in the head after they’ve been tasered and incapacitated, we should be given details. How long has it been so, who trains them to do it ‘safely’ to avoid police themselves being murderers, when it’s happened, how it’s regulated.

He apologised for sharing the tweet in ‘haste’ in what was a ‘politically charged situation.’ Police brutality and excessive force is used on our streets every single day, not just to those carrying knives & not just to those who are guilty of a crime. The Green Party, headed by @ZackPolanski, is set to make significant gains in London. The chief of @metpoliceuk decided he’s not happy with this and so publicly attacked the Leader of @TheGreenParty a week before elections. Mark Rowley must resign and the Metropolitan Police must issue an apology immediately for this blatant political interference made worse by Rowley’s interview this morning.

For more than 25 years, the Metropolitan Police has been repeatedly found by independent investigations to be institutionally racist, misogynistic and homophobic. The brass neck is staggering. As Commissioner, Mark Rowley’s job is to serve the public, not to make political attacks. Shame on him.

Wow, in a very unusual step the Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has sent a blistering letter to Green Party leader Zack Polanski saying he shouldn’t be retweeting “armchair critics” who criticised officers for kicking the Golders Green attacker in the head.

@PaulBrandITV It’s hardly shocking, when Mark Rowley is responsible for a Police force that is not just sexist, racist, homophobic and littered with criminals, it is also institutionally corrupt and notoriously inept. The Met Police should have been dismantled years ago.
