The Super Mario Galaxy Movie currently has a 92% user average on Rotten Tomatoes. Very similar to the story of the original movie. Hated by most critics, loved by most people who went to see it in theaters.

This is the correct take to combat all these Super Mario Galaxy apologists with their "it's just a movie for kids" bollocks.
The Sonic movies have done the same thing effectively. Respecting the kid side of things AND telling a story that's fun and connectable for adults.
