And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. You can 100% stop at any time. You can make the right choice every time you're tempted. The only reason why you're still looking at porn is cause you don't care enough. "Stopping sexual addictions is hard though, you don't understand." "You don't know what addictions are like." Oh I do, I fought sexual sin of my imagination from early childhood to early adulthood. I get it's hard. I know it's easy to build up bad habits that make you crave it. Don't care. You still have a choice. And you're choosing sin. Stop making excuses and start making changes.

Advice from my friend: Most people, guys and girls included, who say they're addicted to porn (or erotica, etc) aren't. They could stop if they wanted to. If I walked up to any man saying he's addicted to porn and offered him a million dollars to not do anything sexual for the rest of the day, guess what? He wouldn't. That million dollars is worth it to him. Men aren't addicted, they just value the pleasure porn gives very highly. A million dollars would be enough to stop them. But why isn't God enough to stop them?

If only God gave us the capacity for that. Unfortunately, even for all his words in the Garden, Satan ultimately lied to us even in the truth. We may know evil from good, but we cannot see it as God does.

@PhrogPollenYT I am so utterly blind to so much of my sin. Even then, even if I could see it, I don't think I'd have the will to hate it even an infinitesimal amount as much as the briefest moment of God seeing it.

Imma be fr, Christianity collectively would be incredibly more healthy if we took sin as seriously as God did.

@Prince_Phae @PhrogPollenYT You can absolutely fight it, but not indefinitely and not alone. Addicts are addicts until the day they die even with them resisting. As long as they keep trying, slip ups are expected and not the end of the world.

It’s also a choice not to Drink or do Drugs, yet we still have alcoholics and junkies still going through rehab. The temptation to sin is real in all its forms, including addictions, and yes we on our own bare the responsibility for when we act on it, but it’s one thing to provide a way out and hold someone accountable, and it’s another thing to shame someone for their temptations, as if you yourself have never once sinned. John 8:7

@StardustBunney @PhrogPollenYT Fair, but that still does not deny that you still have a choice to fight it. Just because it is ingrained in your mind does not make it impossible to fight. If every bad habit or thought were permanent, then humanity would not be here today.

@PhrogPollenYT Addiction is an actual chemical imbalance/dependence in the brain, not always a choice. If addiction were a choice, rehabs wouldn't exist.
