Exclusive breaking news 🚨 : I can now confirm that former England Cricketers Sam and Tom Curran have now officially committed to Zimbabwe Cricket! Tom Curran is immediately available while Sam must wait a few months before ICC confirms his switch from England. High level talks have been ongoing for the past month following Zimbabwe’s successful World Cup run in India and Sri Lanka. Can you believe it?😬😅🇿🇼

I grew up playing cricket in Victoria Falls, and having a stadium there is truly a positive development for our community. For many years, the lack of proper facilities limited opportunities for young players like us to grow and progress in the sport. It’s important to highlight that there are many passionate cricket lovers in Victoria Falls who will definitely support and attend matches. This stadium will make a real difference for the future of cricket in the area. 🏏🌍👏

Let me share a bit of my own experience growing up. My paternal grandparents gave me a few goats, and over time they would sell some on my behalf and give me the money. I clearly remember wanting a popular gaming console at the time the Game Boy and I had to use the money from those goats to buy it myself. That experience taught me a lot about value, patience, and responsibility. So I do understand and support what @begottensun is suggesting.

While this sounds like a good idea on paper. That child is still growing up and the time they need the toys also passing . I’m an advocate for balance . That’s how balanced children are raised. Instead of an all or none. Just do both within your means as a parent of course. In that 50$ example, maybe use 15 to get some toys . For kids those are needs not even wants

Both. 👍👍 No ? I don’t know but gifting a 5 year old goats and sheep instead of toys sounds off to me . I can understand gifting them livestock And toys because at the end of the day, they’re still kids . They need to play, it stimulates their minds and helps their development. The two are not mutually exclusive
K@begottensun

Instead of expensive parties , gadgets and toys ; give your kids Goats , sheep and Cows. Thanks me later.

Interesting case there by kaapstad. This woman, previously married with two kids, entered into a new marriage with this guy in 2018 & filed for divorce in 2023. Pending finalisation of the divorce, she applied for maintanence in terms of Rule 43, demanding R40k maintanance pay, R40k for rent & contribution toward legal cost to the tune of R1m. The poor guy went to the HC claiming the kids weren't even his & that their biological father was contributing R7k per month anyway. Court said nope, you pay bro because you assumed fatherly duties. He took it on appeal to the SCA. Bathi e SCA, Rule 43 decisions are not appealable kaloku, bhatala futhi bhatalela nala magqwetha plus la we divorce. 😰😰

Case Study #139 A Johannesburg company discovered it had been losing millions through procurement fraud. There was no hacking. No fake suppliers. No missing invoices. Every payment had been properly approved. That was exactly why no one noticed the fraud for years. A thread.

Please do. I only began following local football with genuine enthusiasm last year. Previously, I kept an eye on it from a distance, but it was only last year that I started attending matches at the stadiums. This past weekend, I had the opportunity to visit Chahwanda Stadium, and the atmosphere was absolutely electric an experience that truly captured the spirit and passion of the game.

I had someone argue that allowing foreign players into the league limits opportunities for young local talent to develop and break through. However, another perspective is that the ability to attract foreign players actually reflects the league’s growth and appeal, and it ultimately raises the level of competition within the league.

Hey! I’ve been following the developments at @ScottlandFC with keen interest. Looks like they are raising the bar, administratively ,shuwa. On another note ,football clubs are built on identity. Right now Scottland FC sounds like it belongs in Europe, not Zimbabwe. A small rethink could give it real roots. Scottland FC is named after its owner, Scott Sakupwanya. Nothing wrong with an owner putting his stamp on a club, football history is full of that. But in my humble opinion ,the name itself creates an immediate problem. The moment people hear Scottland, they think of the country Scotland, that association is automatic, especially in football where the Scotland national football team and Scottish clubs have long-established identities. So instead of sounding like a Zimbabwean club with its own story, the name ends up sounding like a misspelling of somewhere else. For a club trying to build a following, and planning on building a stadium in Mabvuku identity is everything. The owner is from Mabvuku, a proud high-density suburb in Harare with real football culture from the days of Circle Cement FC . That’s actually the perfect foundation for a club name because supporters connect more deeply with something that represents their community. If Scott wants his name attached to the club, something like MabvukuScott FC would already make more sense. It keeps his identity while anchoring the club to its roots. What about Scott Mabvuku FC,Scott United, Mabvuku Warriors, Mabvuku Rangers? My two pennies as a football fan. 😜

You will spend most of your 20s and 30s behaving like what other people think matters. Then you hit 40's... The "Boys" you fought with you wife about for that night out... the "girls" that put so much pressure with their fake "perfect" lives... all fade away. Build, find your tribe. Protect it. Keep it small. Keep it accountable. None of the bars that wasted my youth are even open... well except Londoners.
