@Coach_Yac It's early, but last night vs a southpaw, his two first two at bats looked better than I had ever seen from Lee & Gilbert during the entire time I've been watching them hit against lefties. Whether he succeeds or not, the inherent talent is there, IMHO.

Mike Krukow on Bryce Eldridge: “There was a time where I thought he should have been sent down, but I certainly don’t feel that way now. His at-bats have been fantastic… I don’t think he’s ever going back down. From what I’m seeing right now at the plate, he’s confident, he’s projecting confidence, he’s taking tough pitches, he’s working counts, he’s getting counts in his favor, and he’s making some loud contact. Everything about the guy excites me.” via: @knbrmurph | @MarkusBoucher

@miles_commodore You know, back in the old NL when pitchers had to it, you'd never see this kind of bush league behavior.

@GiantHotTakes This issue is now every RF plays in the alley, so you really don't get the triples. The unintended result has been leftie sluggers not wanting to sign here, no triples just robbed non-HRs and doubles down the right field line. So, yeah, probably time to fix it, IMHO.

@GiantHotTakes I had come of age when a triple was the most exciting play in baseball. There was nothing like it watching the base runner and fielders play it perfectly--everything about it defined the big leagues. In the modern game, I'm starting to agree with you, given this team's makeup.

People are spinning Bryce Eldridge getting screwed out of a home run as a “welcome to the MLB kid moment” It doesn’t have to be. Triples alley is outdated. It hurts our team far more than it helps them.

@miles_commodore IMHO, coffee is an acquired taste. Initially, like beer, it didn't take to me and I needed cream & sugar. However, over the years, I acquired the taste and in my early 30s, preferred it black and strong--to taste the full flavor. Now, I can't have it any other way.

Why do so many people over 50 years old drink their coffee black? 🤔

@Coach_Yac He's right and I couldn't agree more. It's fine if they're winning, but doing this bovine on a team on pace to lose 90+ games?

Will Clark gives his thoughts on the Giants celebration in the outfield after a win: “The dance where they’re doing the fucking pelvic thrust or something like that. I’m like 'What the fuck is this? You’re 20 and 30', you don’t have the luxury of doing that kind of bullshit out there. It looks like chicken shit. Go back, high-five each other, nice job— we won one. Let’s keep the train running. But the train has been off the tracks a little bit.”

@957thegame Until he proves otherwise, he's a prospect, albeit a highly touted one. Important to find out asap if he can hit big league pitching, because if he can't, needs to go down & work on his game. There's no "long term" development in the big leagues--either you can play or you can't.

@NBCSGiants While he's been a tad disappointing thus far, he's a lot better than Gilbert and that other leftie they've got out there.

Not even joking when I say that Mets could sign either of Wilmer Flores or Justin Turner away from Mexican league and they would immediately be the best cleanup hitter option on active roster.

@RonDeSantis 60 homers during the dead ball era--I can't even wrap my head around how remarkable an achievement that really was back in the day. Out homering teams is something we'll never see again.

By 1935 the Babe was a shadow of his former self. Yet, he launched 3 home runs in his final game, including hitting one completely out of Forbes Field. A true legend of the game.
ME Music@espofootball

May25,1935 Babe Ruth (George Herman Ruth Jr) hits 3 homer runs for the Boston Braves numbers 712, 713 and 714 the final HR of the game and Ruth's career. Sailing out of the park over the right field upper deck; the 1st time anyone had hit a fair ball out of Forbes Field

@BaseballJeff1 Keep this up to the All-Star break, it's a bonafide breakout season, and not just your run-of-mill hot streak. Having seen his journey to the bigs & struggles, I'm really rooting for him and hope he can get the bag he deserves--Schmitt is a really good guy and easy to root for.

@nut_history Eric Davis. He was the closest I'll ever get to watch Willie Mays. Davis, IMHO, was a bonafide 70 across the board, if not more in speed & fielding. If it weren't for the injuries, he could have been the closest thing my generation would come to a modern day Willie Mays.

@BBGreatMoments Prime Madison Bumgarner. Before the DH, he was actually a good hitter with power. As with every great pitcher, he had a real mean streak, not to mention the occasional snot rockets on the mound which just added to the color. I miss watching that guy pitch.

@BBGreatMoments Vida Blue. This was before the NL DH, and I've never seen a pitcher try harder and swing harder than he did. It seemed like he really believed he was a slugger up there. I miss the old NL game, which was, IMHO, a much better game than what we see today.

@GiantHotTakes I can understand sitting Gilbert & Lee, both of whom, IMHO, just don't have the talent to be great. Bryce has the innate talent and there's hope. He may not be, of course, but he has the potential to be great. Lefty prospects in this class need to play vs lefties.
