@_AdilHussain It formed over a thousand years probably. It is indeed heartbreaking to see such a huge chunk floating in the sea, as the ice shelf is melting at a fast rate due to the #ClimateCrisis

@_AdilHussain Thanks for sharing ☺️ @_AdilHussain ! Basically it is ice that formed under tremendous pressure from the weight of the Antarctic ice shelf, expelling all air bubbles. It is black because it's simply reflecting the sea around it, it's that crystalline. Mother nature! ❤️
