No, you are never too late to start HRT. I was already 36 first picture, pre hormones 2nd one I'm 40. Only regret I have is not transitioning sooner. 🏳️‍⚧️

@oddfuturesamuel @kurom3owz They do in rare cases, but oftentimes antidepressants can trigger mania, mixed states, and/or worsen mood cycling, even when mood stabilisers (or even antipsychotics) are included.

@kurom3owz why dont they just start prescribing bipolar people a mood stabilizer to cancel out the mania and an antidepressant to cancel out the depression at the same time

last time i was on meds it felt like the first image now it feels like the second one. what does this mean? are my meds working? are they not working? am i getting better????

@kurom3owz It could be that they're working! However, mood stabilisers usually treat mania better than depression when used in BD (it's why they added Limicital to my regimen, for instance). I'd talk to your doctor about how you've been feeling and see if either of you want to adjust things

@timeslain This is actually recommended in therapy sometimes. Saying "I am depressed" can make people feel worse compared to "I *feel* depressed." It's because one seems like a sense of being, and one is a state, and your mind can genuinely correlate that. It's a small thing, though.
