Our current system fuels a two‑party doom loop. PR replaces “us vs. them” with “how do we work together?” Coalitions > gridlock. Ready to upgrade California’s democracy? #ProportionalRepresentation

Tired of politicians who only care about winning primaries? PR changes the game. Instead of extreme candidates winning low-turnout primaries, every voter gets a say in competitive general elections. That's how we get REAL representation. #ProportionalRepresentation

"This 'winner-takes-all' electoral system has historically discouraged third parties…and thus, the United States mostly just has a two-party system." @beatmastermatt covers the history of how the two dominant parties have drastically changed over time. youtu.be/g6NyGQbM2w0?si…

6. Proportional Representation for the House. The combination of one-district-one-member-of-congress plus first-past-the-post means that 80% of all House seats are safe for one party or another. This makes the Primary the only important election for those seats, which encourages extremism. A better system is Proportional Representation, where elections for House members are done at the entire State level rather than district level. This would end gerrymandering in one fell swoop, and remove the extremist bent of the current system. More here: fairvote.org/our-reforms/pr…

In a two‑party system, rights become “team” issues: each side only fights when their own voters are the ones getting hit. With more parties, coalitions and competition makes it harder to ignore rights abuses because more groups have skin in the game. #ProportionalRepresentation

"It threatens no incumbent directly while creating the official record that makes future reform thinkable. Americans are tired of a Congress that doesn’t work. This resolution finally asks why — and whether winner-take-all is the root of the dysfunction. (Spoiler: It is.)"

"And even fairly drawn districts would most likely construct just one competitive district whose voters would get to determine the majority.... Proportional representation, in contrast, means that all voters influence the outcome of the election." sightline.org/2026/01/20/dis…
