@AlanDougla5 As ever, HMRC and DVLA don't talk to each other! There's no mention of any changes to VED (or VAT) for pickups, so the assumption must be that the status quo continues. These changes only affect business users and company vehicle drivers.

@ProVanPickup I wish it well, but looking at the launch photos and your written feature it looks odd (it may look better in the metal) it’s design looks deliberately uncohesive to me with it black wheel arch tops odd front / grill design standing out.🤷🏼‍♂️

@AutoPap The maths is wrong (as you recognise) but even if it was right, is being 1mph slower than a truck when joining a motorway a big issue?

According to Highways Agency the average ramp on to a motorway is 39 metres. This car accelerates 0-60 in 19 seconds. In 19 seconds it covers (c)1.4 metres a second. So it only just arrives on to the motorway at a min legal speed of 55mph. May be OK here but in France or Germany? It'll be shoved off the road!
