Before 1850: all milk was raw, drunk by the gallon, and considered medicine.
Before 1900: everyone ate eggs, beef, and butter without a single thought about cholesterol.
Before 1910: every household used salt to preserve meat and fish through the winter.
Before 1920: everything was cooked in tallow, lard, dripping, and butter.
Before 1950: there was no obesity epidemic, no diabetes epidemic, no childhood ADHD diagnosis on every street.
Now consider the timeline.
The seed oils arrived. The margarine arrived. The breakfast cereal arrived. The low-fat yoghurts arrived. The packaged convenience food arrived. The supermarket aisles filled up with products that had no equivalent on a 1900 dinner table.
And the experts are still trying to convince you that chronic disease is caused by the foods that fed humanity for the entire stretch of recorded history.
Not the new arrivals. The old reliables.
Have a think about who benefits from that conclusion.

Europe mocked Trump. Now they’re about to lose billions because US bases might close. Reality, without US muscle, their socialist dream dies. Pay up or defend yourselves. America First means we stop carrying parasites.
Germany: $4.1 billion a year and 80,000 jobs gone. Italy: $312 million in Naples alone. Spain: $713 million.
They spent decades freeloading on American protection while funding welfare empires and importing the Third World.

@ProchRainer @Microinteracti1 Trump warned Germany…… didn’t listen. They intentionally chose to rely on Putin. That was so dumb. If only Germany had listened.

Germany is not hosting American troops. It is hosting American power. Amplifying it. Projecting it across three continents. And now, for the first time with real legal and political weight behind it, voices inside Germany are beginning to say out loud: Berlin could shut down every American base on German soil.
A fiber-optic cable runs beneath Ramstein Air Base. It carries a signal from a drone pilot in Nevada to an armed aircraft over Yemen. Fraction of a second. Precision. Control. That cable sits on German soil. Cut it, and the strikes do not miss. They simply cannot happen.
This week Washington punished Berlin for telling the truth about the Iran war. Five thousand troops withdrawn. A presidential post calling Germany a failure.
The language of a tenant who has forgotten whose name is on the deed.
Because Berlin can end all of it. Not the 5,000. All 36,436. Every soldier, every satellite dish, every signal passing through German soil on its way to a target over Africa or the Middle East.
Spain tore it up. Italy said no. Germany has not moved yet.
But it is thinking about it. And what it is thinking about is this: Germany holds the one thing that separates America from every other country on earth. The ability to project military force across three continents simultaneously. Take away the European staging ground and the United States becomes what every other nation in the Western Hemisphere already is. Large. Armed. And unable to reach anyone who does not live next door.

Deutsch

Let me get this straight.
America rebuilt Europe after World War II.
Defended Europe through the Cold War.
Funded Europe's security for 80 years while they built their socialist utopias.
Now they're mad we're pulling 5,000 troops out of Germany.
The audacity is breathtaking.
Pay your own bills Europe. America has its own problems.

America’s “Favor” That Powers Its Empire
U.S. troops in Germany are not there out of charity—and certainly not to “protect” Germans. They are there because without German soil, American global reach doesn’t function.
Ramstein is the largest U.S. air base outside America. Stuttgart hosts EUCOM and AFRICOM—the command centers for operations across Europe and Africa. Landstuhl has been the lifeline for wounded U.S. soldiers from Iraq to Afghanistan. Even drone operations in places like Somalia rely on infrastructure routed through Germany.
Remove that, and you don’t weaken Berlin—you blind Washington.
Yet somehow the narrative persists: America is doing Germany a favour. That Europe is the dependent, the beneficiary, the so-called “freeloader.”
It’s a convenient story. It’s also strategically backwards.
Because the reality is simple: those bases are not acts of generosity. They are instruments of power. And they exist in Germany not for Germany’s benefit—but for America’s ability to operate far beyond its own borders.
Take them away, and the question isn’t what Germany loses.
It’s how much the United States does.

@WallStreetMav @VickyRichterUSA We can easily transfer to Poland or even another eastern European country, with a lower cost and be welcomed with open arms.

@VickyRichterUSA You overestimate the geostrategic intelligence of the American.
There's a reason why Donald Trump was TWICE elected president. He is the embodiment of the prevailing naivete and utter stupidity of the US.

Deutsch

@VickyRichterUSA with the US air lift capability, and our carrier air wings we can pretty much deal with any threat. and personally, I don't think Russia is a major threat to the US.
English

You seem to not understand. We are now America First…our treasure will be directed at home, not to subsidize free stuff for Europe possible by letting USA provide the protection umbrella.
Your going to get mad, your going to justify, your going to badmouth, but ultimately, you freeloading European mooches are on your own now.
Good luck with Allah
English

@VickyRichterUSA They are there because the moment the US leaves Europe, the Europeans will immediately start going to war with each other again. The US is baby sitting Europe to prevent yet another world war. Not from Russia, but from all the powers in Europe.

The US does also benefit from having bases in Europe but this sort of kiss-off attitude really makes one wonder why we should bother.
We put up with lopsided tariffs for decades, get sneered at while we fund pharmaceutical research and your lavish welfare states, for what?
Andrew Neil@afneil
Good luck continuing to wage your war against Iran without your German bases. Well nigh impossible. US troops aren’t in Germany to protect Germans. They’ve been there to project US power. Bye bye.
