BIG PUSH UPDATE: REHABILITATION OF THE GBINTRI-NAKPANDURI ROAD (44KM) The government’s Big Push program continues to transform the national road network. The rehabilitation of the 44km Gbintri-Nakpanduri road has achieved 25.73% completion less than five months after commencement. The project began in January 2026 and is scheduled for completion in January 2028. Project Scope The project features a single-carriageway asphaltic concrete road with 2.5m shoulders, and includes a 7.0km dualization section through the Gbintri and Nakpanduri townships. It also covers the upgrading of 2.7km of Gbintri town roads, including the market square, using precast concrete paving blocks. Key works include: •Earthworks to widen the existing road •Construction of roadside drains in communities along the route •Construction of cross-drainage structures •Laying of a 150mm thick natural gravel sub-base •Laying of a 200mm thick crushed rock base •Laying of a 60mm thick asphaltic binder course •Laying of a 40mm thick asphaltic wearing course •Provision of lay-bys in towns and villages •Road line markings across the entire stretch •Installation of road safety furniture Site Inspection Earlier today, Hon. Kwame Agbodza inspected the project as part of his tour of the North East Region. Addressing the press after the inspection, Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far and encouraged the contractor to maintain the high quality of work.

INNALILLAHI WA’INA ILAIHIRRAJIUN 💔💔 I came home happy & sat chatting with my mother. She told me the meat from last Sallah was not enough for her to share with people. I smiled & told her nt to worry, tht this year I would slaughter a cow for us. She happily replied, “May Allah make it possible.” We laughed and joked together, and before leaving for work, I went to the cattle market searching for cows. After bargaining with a seller, I wanted to make a transfer, but they said they only accepted cash, so I went to withdraw the money. Filled with joy, I called her & said, “Mother, our Sallah cows are ready. This year you will share meat until you get tired.” She quietly replied, “I may not even be alive to eat from it.” I answered, “No, you will eat and enjoy it.” But Subhanallah 😢💔… little did I know my mother would not even witness this Sallah. Today the cows are here, but she is gone. May Allah forgive her, brighten her grave, & reward her for every good intention you had. We humbly ask our Muslim brothers and sisters to remember her in your sincere prayers.
