A appropriately complex model would account for a shift of wealth from the elderly to the young
A shift in the labour force towards well paid care work
Reduced housing costs benefiting workers
+ the sustainability of high immigration

I’m very strongly in favour of family friendly policies like better parental leave, free childcare, walkable neighbourhoods & affordable housing, too.
But all of these & more have been tried in other countries & have not reversed birthrate decline. We need to be realistic.

People who want fully AI doctors are gunna be pretty upset when they realize that AI will order far LESS testing than human doctors. US docs orders far more labs, imaging than most other countries (often not indicated or for fear of malpractice). And you won’t be able to talk an AI doc into getting a test to ease your concerns like you could a human.

It’s also common sense to realise that there is a lot of work done by doctors that could just as safely and effectively be done by others to the benefit of all stakeholders including doctors and patients.

This is the worst educational policy decision made in a generation.
For ages I thought they wouldn’t go through with it because it would so obviously hurt tens of thousands of kids. But they did, and it has. And in fact has just cost the country money.

As Sandeep rightly says, replacing doctors with noctors is about money, as it usually is. ACPs and PAs are not medically qualified. A two year Master’s is not equivalent to 11 years of medical training. Direction is clear: you will either pay to see a doctor, or accept a noctor.
