"It's an incredible pioneering story. A battle against adversity." @ProfCBorland @UoE_EFI the Edinburgh Seven Tapestry is on public display at the site of the city's surgical hospital, celebrating the women who enrolled to study medicine at the University of Edinburgh in 1869.

Two fantastic Profs of Physics- @TaraShears & @jonmbutterworth - interviewed on @BBCr4today this morning, remembering Peter Higgs: Jon-introduced with full title & addressed with full name throughout, Tara-intro with no title & first name only used throughout. Do better R4!

Did you know the benches outside the Fraser building are actually designed to look like dissection tables? 😮 Installed in 2001, the art installation marked 550 years of @UofGlasgow. The white porcelain headrests are replicas of the wooden headrest used in anatomical dissection!

Invisible threads...🧵 The Edinburgh 7 tapestry, designed with artist @ProfCBorland presents more creative challenges to the Dovecot weavers. The warp is made of transluscent nylon thread to allow for 'holes' to appear in the tapestry and light to shine through. #weaving

We’re trying really hard to avoid everyone coming all at once, so get in touch with me directly and we can get you round for a look some time this week, because we’d really like everyone who’s interested to be able to see the place - just not all on Friday if that’s okay!

Just putting the finishing touches to the @borishamilton4 postcard packs for the weekend. Folks, particularly local folks on Friday, pleeease do not just turn up unless you have a ticket or have spoken to me personally…

This year we will be working with photographer @borishamilton4 to produce a photographic essay on the garden. He’ll be visiting Spring, Summer and Autumn and you’ll be able to pick up a series of 10 postcards or a book of his Winter visit at our open days next week.
