Assad believed HTS could be corralled in Idlib and that Idlib would be a “dumping ground” for Syrian rebels who had been bussed there; the goal was to deport opposition Syrians to Idlib with hopes they would stay there or go to Turkey or Europe. The Assad regime’s goal was always to divide and conquer the country, playing off groups against eachother and then selling them out one by one or massacring them. For the regime, all the other groups were useful to a point; this included HTS and the YPG but also it felt the rebels were convenient as long as they were divided; it also thought ISIS was fine and had even released extremists ;before the war began in 2012 it had even funneled extremists down the Euphrates River valley into Iraq. The regime was evil. It also sought to exploit the Christian, Alawite and Druze minority. It should be recalled that it likely allowed the ISIS attack on Suwayda in 2018 to send a message to the Druze as the regime was returning to southern Syria. The regime had no ideology except being cynical. Look how it would flirt with Israel at times. It exploited the Kurds also. It let the Captagon trade grow, let the Iranians run wild, sold out to everyone, let Wagner mercenaries massacre people; until the regime collapsed and it ran away like a thief in the night as if it had never existed.

🚨A senior Trump administration official says the agreement with Iran is not expected to be signed today 🚨The official said there are still several details to close. There is still back and forth over certain parts of the deal. "some words that are important to us and some words that are important to them", the official said 🚨The U.S. official said the Iranian system in its current configuration does not move quickly and added it will take several days for this to go through all the approvals 🚨"Our understanding is that Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei approved the broad template of the agreement, but whether this will turn into a final agreement is still an open question", the U.S. official said

🚨 "An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other Countries, as listed..." - President Donald J. Trump

According to my sources, the draft proposal that’s supposed to be finalised include: -End of war on all fronts including Lebanon -Freeing several billion dollars of Iran's blocked funds -Lifting the U.S. naval blockade and opening the strait of Hormuz -Withdrawal of American forces from the immediate vicinity of Iran After this, the parties will have 30 days to agree on the nuclear issue. These 30 days can be extended by mutual agreement. During these thirty days, passage will be facilitated through the strait. According to Iran, management of the Strait of Hormuz will be an Iranian-Omani issue, and is being negotiated with Muscat.

U.S. and Iranian negotiators close to extending ceasefire by 60 days under deal to include gradual reopening of Hormuz, talks on enriched uranium stockpile, eased restrictions on Iran ports, sanctions relief & phased unfreezing of Tehran’s overseas assets. ft.com/content/0f6f99…
