It looks like I have a date set to face my fears The @DRPA_PAandNJ announced that on July 11th, to celebrate the bridge’s 100th anniversary, the Ben Franklin Bridge will be closed to traffic Live music, food trucks, historical features & exhibits, and walking across the bridge

@Stew2551 @RidePATCO Cool! I’ve been taking it for 20 years now. But I once went into work on the ferry which was fun. But yeah my grandfather worked at rca, my dad at Honeywell and I at Rutgers! Can’t escape Camden!

@ProfDuff @RidePATCO I’m the other way around. Grandfather commuted on the ferry, then bridge from Haddonfield to Center City; for a few years my dad went with him; then for ten years I came into work in the city on Patco. Also went with my dad on Patco the first month it was open.

Whenever I cross the Ben Franklin Bridge on @ridepatco or by bicycle I think that my grandfather, my father, and now I take this bridge as we all lived in Philly and worked in Camden. Infrastructure for the generations…happy 100th!

@EmilyB_______ To be clear the 😹is because I’ve worked at Rutgers Camden for 20 years. Never once had a problem or issue. It’s more that she didn’t apply to the school I work at but she also doesn’t live in Jersey so out of state tuition would have been irrational. Wasn’t a dig on Rutgers!

@ProfDuff Rutgers Camden is great school both my parents are alumni Temple is a good school as well she will learn so much there.

My niece officially signed up to go to Temple University next year. While it’s unfortunate she’s not going to Rutgers Camden 😹 do you have any suggestions for a new student at Philly’s finest university? (In my opinion)

@Wclitka @ProfDuff When were you last there? 2010 the place was packed with food trucks. There are almost none now

@ProfDuff happy to help answer any questions, get her in contact with the student advisor, and the staff itself if interested in some of those clubs! University Honors was a good hub for me, as well

@_ourt Thanks! I think that is something she is definitely interested in. I went today and saw some of that and the media building where they train people in the news media it was quite the facility! I have to compliment @TempleUniv for a job well done for a prospective student day!

@ProfDuff depending on her interests, writing/designing/photographing for the temple news can be really fun, get you out of your shell, and get you paid! i worked for two years as staff designer and made lifelong friends

You can walk around a single block in Philadelphia in fifteen minutes one lazy autumn morning and find a thousand amazing things to photograph

It sometimes gives me pause as I read an old book written in 1968 about an obscure sub-area of an already obscure sub-area of psychology that I perhaps am the only person on earth right now to be reading these words.
