We all saw January 6. First it was “Antifa.” Then it was “the FBI.” Then suddenly it was a “normal tourist day.” Which is it? Now taxpayers may help fund compensation for January 6 participants through a $1.8 billion DOJ fund while working Americans struggle to afford rent and groceries. The real patriots are the people who keep this country running every day, not the traitors who stormed the Capitol. open.substack.com/pub/drfrusci/p…

Trump said he was going to prosecute all kinds of Democrats because there was so much corruption. How has that gone? Joe Biden autopen - dropped Letitia James - tossed out Jerome Powell - dropped Mark Kelly - Grand Jury failed to indict James Comey case #1 - tossed out Lisa Cook - still part of the Fed Adam Schiff - no charges Trump said they would expose how the election was stolen from him in 2020. Numerous court cases have been dismissed, and Trump has been unable to provide any evidence proving his claims, even with a weaponized DOJ. This is because Trump lost a free and fair election. None of that should be surprising because this is the same Trump who claimed: -Other countries pay for tariffs, but the average US household spent $1,500 on the illegal tariffs last year. -Tariffs would bring in so much revenue that we could get rid of the income tax and send everyone checks. We still have income tax, we didn't get checks, and the debt is rising faster than before. -DOGE was going to save so much money that everyone would get DOGE checks. No one got DOGE checks, and DOGE cost more than the tiny amount it cut. -That he wouldn't start any wars, only to then start a war in Iran. -Said Iran was a short excursion and that the war was won in early March, but we're still at war at the end of May. -He would bring prices down. Instead, he skyrocketed gas prices and shot inflation to its highest level in 3 years, and it is still rising and now outpacing wage gains. My question to Trump supporters is: why are you going to believe the next lie Trump tells you?

Our deficit is roughly $2 trillion. The largest share of spending goes to entitlements for American citizens. It really isn't hard to understand. We will never balance the budget if powerful people keep peddling wild falsehoods like this.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

Stephen Miller: "Based on what I've heard, we could balance the federal budget if the only dollars that went out of the treasury went to individuals who were properly, lawfully, correctly eligible to receive them"

This is wildly false, and it breeds a dangerous level of ignorance and wishful thinking in the American public. We'd have to make some hard choices (including making some very tough trade-offs) to come close to balancing the budget. Saying anything else is irresponsible.

Absolute masterclass. Top journalist Glenn Greenwald completely humiliates a Trump supporter cheering for the Iran war. When asked if he will enlist to fight, he instantly backtracks. He exposes how Washington brainwashes citizens to blindly cheer for endless wars.
Furkan Gözükara@FurkanGozukara

Prominent journalist Glenn Greenwald completely destroys the establishment's fake narrative. He confirms Iran and Shia groups have NEVER committed a single terrorist attack on American soil. The threat is entirely manufactured! Washington intentionally lies to the public.

There was only one thing that surprised me about the Jubilee with MAGA die-hards. It wasn't that some people scream and refuse to stop talking. It wasn't that these were mostly young people cheering and finding purpose in wars but never fighting in them. It wasn't that their politics is more of a cult of personality. All expected and found in all factions. It was that, despite being political junkies, they had no idea about Trump's enormous corruption scandals because the corporate and independent media they consume doesn't mention it. They had no idea it existed:

Joe Rogan on Trump’s corrupt slush fund: “That is so crazy. Imagine somebody accuses you of murder and it turns out you weren’t guilty of that murder and then you sue them and you go you can never prosecute me for murder again. Then you just go straight Uday Hussein. That’s nuts”

I read all 277 pages of SpaceX's IPO filing so you don't have to. Losses up 700%. Revenue decelerating. 107x price-to-sales multiple. It's a trainwreck. Full breakdown below 👇

“The Trump administration is making preparations to attack another country, Cuba, as if this didn’t they didn’t learn one thing. They think Venezuela went great and Iran is still going to turn out pretty much okay. So they’re going to start a third war. That’s a very bad idea. We should not do that.” “And the checks and balances are gone. The guardrails are gone. The only thing that can constrain Trump is his concern about the economy and the bond markets and his own personal interests. And luckily, those things are being affected, because that’s the only thing stopping him from expanding the war even further, which would just be crazy.”

no regime change in iran, no handpicking of the next supreme leader. no dismantling of iran’s proxies, no restrictions on its ballistic missile and drone programs. an agreement to downblend the highly enriched uranium inside iran. the destruction of iran’s navy, but an emboldened iran that is prepared to disrupt the strait. throw in the cost in lives, the global economy, and the global treasure, and the reputational damage to the united states…and president trump has some serious explaining to do.   next up: cuba

PETRAEUS: I'm trying to draw attention of Congress to fact that we haven't remotely learned lessons from war in Ukraine. That's future of war: Ukraine alone using 10,000 drones a day, 90% of Russian casualties caused by drones, armored vehicles no longer survive on battlefield.

The median home price in the US right now is $432,000. To afford the mortgage and have a little cash left over, not rich, just not drowning, you need to make about $160,000 a year. The median income is $84,000. That means half the country can't afford the median house. These are people: -skipping medical appointments -skipping the dentist -missing a prescription -leaving the dent in the car because they can't afford the repair shop. This isn't abstract monetary policy. This is how people are actually living. Inflation is a regressive tax. It hits hardest the people with the least margin for error. And they are angry — rightfully so.
