Applied researchers who do not make data available in their webpage when there are no privacy constraints 👀👀 Help us, econometricians, help you! The same way we don't want you to code up everything from scratch, we‘d love to not have to reconstruct all the data from scratch!

BTW I think baby formula is one of the most miraculous inventions of the modern world. That it gets visciously maligned by breast feeding absolutists is a shame.

Has anyone written the definitive IO paper about baby formula? Seems like it would almost write itself and has the potential to have pretty direct, immediately achievable policy implications.

The only conference that could ever possibly challenge this one is if @ProfLisaBKahn finally delivers on her promise of organizing a tennis conference with presentations and discussions in the morning and the evening.

@jialanw @mazzimon77 @ArantxaJarque It is crazy. Certainly it doesn't count if there is a better policy than on the books that only goes to people with friendly deans/depts. But the other direction is problematic too and doesn't take into account stigma and the like.

@mazzimon77 @jialanw @ArantxaJarque I did this about 5 years ago to encourage Rochester to add a policy. I benchmarked us to the top 50 universities (per US News). There is no other way but to read 50 individual faculty handbooks. It is out-of-date now but lmk if you want my data!

1/6 Going to try to crowd source an answer to a Q here. In mid-2018 the share of job postings with wage information in the Burning Glass data *jumps*: ~14% (2012-2017) to >35%. We think this *might* be BGT not distinguishing imputed and non-imputed wages in posts on Indeed.

There are only three professional dress codes for male economists: 1) Suit and tie 2) Ski gear 3) Shirtless
Paul Oyer@pauloyer

@florianederer As a general rule, can we all aim for more shirts on our Twitter posts?

Daughter asked me why a rainbow has 7 colors. So I've now spent the last 30 mins reading random articles online and my best answer is "Newton made it up because a major scale has 7 notes and he thought it would be cool for a rainbow to have the same number of colors" Really?
