It's just after 5:00PM at UPMC in Pittsburgh. The best and brightest are passing by in green and blue scrubs, clutching cell phones that connect them to their other life, weary from the fight, leaving the front lines in their battle to save lives. God bless them all. No less valiant are the workers too who keep the front lines up and running - the security officers, pastoral care, parking attendants, maintenance crew, cleaning staff, kitchen and clerical workers -- the unsung heroes who make a supply chain that binds together a mission that promotes life. And I watch, a Sister, praying. Thinking of the sick; imploring peace for the dying; consolation for the grief stricken. For the warrior can only do so much. The rest is God's doing.
